i used to love the holy joes trying to convert me i always played them at there own game always suprised how you can undermine there whole belief structure in under 15 mins with a few well placed facts ......always started with you know st.peter carries two sets of keys?.....and then its just brick by brick.

Child obesity.

That would open up a big can of worms. I see kids all the time that are very chubby when they're 4 or 5 only to thin out when they get older. There are also many kids who are big due to steroids and other meds that they take. Not all kids, and older people as well, are big because of overeating. You have to be very careful with kids when they're young. Healthy eating is fine, but downright dieting at a young age can do more harm than good.

I'm no medical physician, but I'm pretty sure you could do some tests to quickly determine if a child were overweight due to steroid treatments or not, or whether or not a child were considered obese versus overweight within healthy limits. Genuine obesity in children due to bad diets and lack of exercise is a real scourge, because that child isn't responsible, and the effects are potentially long-term and uniformly negative.

Was around the shops and this guy stopped and said "hi how are you" so i didn't know what to do, this guy obviously knew me but i had no idea who he was, anyway it quickly became apparent that he didn't know me as he asked "have you given thought to other peoples beliefs" it was at this point i became uncomfortable, i told him i'm not really religious and aren't interested and started going about my day, as i walked off he continued "you don't have go be interested just---"

It was slightly scary he had this brainwashed cultish look to him, stopping people in the street to indoctrinate them is bullcrap, if i were interested i'd have made the move myself.

Yeah I hate when they "recruit" at public places too. they have a right to be there, but at the same time I feel violated because they're soliciting their church services. I was approached at a laundromat a couple of years ago, and was told I shouldn't be living in sin because I was living with my fiancee before we were married. I finally reached my limit and asked this guy to leave me alone before I folded him up and put him in a dryer. I then put on my earbuds and ignored him while he put a flyer on the seat next to me and walked away.

I think these guys are fun. I have been known to sit down with these clowns let them waste their time talking to me. I consider it to be a kindness to others to keep them away from other people.

Cultish? Scary? Violated? Please.

Theyare taking up 15 seconds of your time to try and get you to join thier religion. Being religous does not make you scary or cultish, nor does them talking to you for a minute constitute you being "violated".

If thier beliefs don't fit with your own, just tell them you aren't interested; but they are in no way bad people.

Very true. But I'd guess for the most part that they're obese because their boombalada parents opt for McDonald's and Coca Cola over a fresh, home-cooked meal.

I agree.....but who is going to pay for all those tests?

Most of the overweight kids I see, that is, ones who are really big, also have really big parents.

95% of the time I see a fat kid, he has fat parents. If over stuffing your kid isn't a form of child abuse, I don't know what is.
Putting a 4 or 5 year old on certain medication is ridiculous too. My nephew was on some sort of anti hyper pill at 5 years old. To me, he just had lazy ass parents who didn't feel like dealing with him. Now he sits in a corner in a drug induced fog all day and doesn't even act like a kid.
