Snyder-man's sculpts are nice but not $150 nice. No offense to him but while I'd LOVE to have a number of them I just can't justify that price. And an unpainted sculpt won't work. I have too many of those already.

Well you can't have your cake and eat it too. I've check around for painters and can't find any I like that charge a competive rate when you include shipping three times. No offence to you sir but based on your many post on this topic it seems like you want specific heads done, but are looking to pay on the low end for them. There is nothing wrong with that, I'm on a budget also. Don't get offended if sculptors aren't jumping all over these ideas. I would love to have Colburn/Derek Flint or Dean Martin/Matt Helm in my collection. The reality is that these are not going to be great sellers for anyone. I've resigned myself to the reality that I'm going to have to save up and commission one myself, or wait patiently until a good one comes along. Looking at my collection I still can't believe some of the figures I have that I never dreamed would be made. I hope a lot of what you are looking for gets made. I'm looking for most of these and more. Good luck with your request.

There's certainly no sense in having cake if you aren't going to eat it. :wink1:
I do want specific heads. I don't mind paying for them if done well, but don't want to gouged and unfortunately can't afford a commissioned piece. BTW, a Deano Matt Helm would really accent those spy collections out there.
I can't believe that a sculptor wouldn't do well with heads of John Wayne, Burt Reynolds, James Coburn. These have all waited too long for decent versions, if not any at all. The sculpts I'm searching for could be used as variety in any genre diorama.
I realize that they are long shots but without putting the idea out there it definitely won't happen.

Well, I wouldn't hold my breath then. I still haven't seen a Bogart that really blows me away, and there aren't many old school actors more important than him. Sideshow's done plenty of decent Wayne sculpts already.

I could argue the Bogie point but thats a matter of preferemce.
I've yet to see a decent John Wayne in 1:6, by Sideshow or anyone else.

They lack the skin detail and paintwork you see with, say, Hot Toys, but I think those old Sideshow figures' likenesses are spot on. I can imagine someone improving on them, but I doubt it would be easy. But that's subjective, like you say. I guess they didn't do Waynes from the '70s if that's what you are looking for.

I think your choices are refreshing...there are so many renditions of batman nd the joker indy etc..i would love to see some brit characters like the professionals or chips, but that aint neva going to happen......i dont think yoaur characters are obscure they are icons and perhaps at least some may be made by headplay...after all they have made gene hackman, hugh hefner and hitchcock and i reckon they would sell more of your choices than those.

I agree with you I-man... If I didn't bring up Abbott and Costello every so often I don't think they would have been made. If you put the idea out, someone might pick up on it.

Good luck, I-man!

Man I been dieing:gah: to see Fred ward (Tremors), Fred dryer (hunter), James woods (John Carpenter's Vampires) i would love to make these customs good luck and hope fully they get done:monkey2
