That's an awesome deal u got bro, I doubt anyone else could find the Ex for that price

LOL maybe not on here where the stigma of the statue is so high.

Auctions with no reserve prices have it going for that and sometimes 50-100 less on Ebay. And knock 200-250 off for the Non EX. The prolem is you'll rarely find an auction anymore that starts less than 800. And most BIN are at $1,000- $1,300. But we all know how much people gouge for BIN.

I also know it's rare but in recent months and on this very website a guy bought one on Ebay for $400 (non EX) and a boardie sold one here on the BST board (EX?) for $400. Then again I saw one sold for $900 delivered.

The prices really are all over the chart.

Thanks Tavegg. I'll keep a running Ebay auction bump as they come along.

One was just listed BIN for $1,799 :pigfly:

someone gots some good deals there for sure, but its the sellers fault they sold for that cheap. they didn't do their homework to find out for sure the going rate. I sold an EX about 6 months ago for $1000 plus shipping.

I think one of the instances was just a very generous boardie looking to hookup a fellow freak.

Looks like someone made him an offer he couldn't refuse. The listing has ended.

that one is actually a scammer. I have dealt with this guy before. he changes his names and no longer is allowed to use paypal. Long story short, scammers stay away from this guy.

Yeah it looks like Thor just popped back up. Ironically he also has a Wolverine CQ with no in hand pics as well as a list of additional rare items (both different in the descriptions of these auctions) he mentioned selling in addition... If he has PayPal listed as terms of pay how would he even get away with anyone's money? Just collect it and then shut down the account?

Wow. What a highly unprofessional and unethical fella. Thanks for the heads up.

what he is doing is having people look at the descrition and people noticing that he has other grail pieces. Once he grabs your attention on that your going to email and ask him what is available and how much etc. You will then complete the transaction outside of ebay and he will never send you the item. He will give you BS excuses. I am not saying its any better to complete the transaction on eBay (to me its all the time ebay or paypal) He has the listing there just to entice people to the description. He will soon take down the auction. Does it all the time. be warned

Wow...I actually scored my Doom PF that way...not from that seller, but still...

Obviously, my seller was legit because I have it in my possession...too bad this guy is out there to rip people off.

It's definitely a Confidence Man move. And brilliantly deducted from Mister W00tW00t.

What a hell of an eye opening sequence of events. Long Con type stuff.

Hooks you with what looks like a legitimate auction with no reserve in a world full of gouging. Shows other grails. Gets you to try and end the auction soon with a best offer email. You're too excited to notice the details. Establishes what I assume is one hell of a repoire with the mark. Butters them up. Gives them a killer price but only if you don't use PP. Keeps coming up with an excuse after you pay. Gone. New Screen name. Wash Rinse Repeat.

It reminds me of the online catfishing online dating scam I saw on Dateline.

He's either Nigerian https://www.datingnmore.com/fraud/scam_database.htm

or he's a long haired blonde, scruffy blue eyed gentlemen who calls women "Freckles".

I directed a fellow boardie from SM to this thread as he was almost caught up with exactly what you posted. He was offered a green and grey hulk PF and a doom Ex from this seller for a price tag of 4k. He knew it sounded to good to be true but every thing you mentioned in your post is exactly what the seller did. Great post man. Your probably saved some people's wallets
