Hey guys,do you think that sideshow has lowered the quality of their pieces?
Lowered the quality? Haha. Am I missing the sarcasm? Because I think all of the new statues look way more detailed and realistic. I understand the "Grail" or value of the other pieces and what not. But if I owned those original pf's, I'd be selling to buy these news ones, and making money...

The quality of a piece is relative when your talking strictly about which statue is better (obviously not so much when you have QC issues). I think the old statues are great but so are the new ones. Sure there are things I'd change in almost every statue I've seen, but that doesn't take away from what the artists did with their representation of our favorite comic book characters.

What happened to 399$? You are going to produce these statues in CHINA which is the cheapest country in the world in terms of human work and you are going to higher prices every year! Then produce them in America cause at least we don't need to worry about the paint surprises caused by our small chinese workers. Besides you can check the quality easier! Someone have to say something to these prices otherwise I can't see the end of tunnel!!!

Has a lot to do with the sculpting too. The Faces are just better sculpted now along with the bodies being a bit more realistic with the way the muscles show through the skin, well for the most part anyway.

I'll believe that when I see it in hand. Great paint apps can really fool people. Their photography is considerably better now too. Those pics of Classic thor and Cap do not do them justice in any way shape or form. The new ones will -not- look like the prototypes in hand as we will get a production paint application.
The details are amazing on classic thor and the musculature is spot on. So is the vascularity.

Yes in hand, the original Thor, Cap, Hulk and Doom PF's are superb...their paint, sculpt, detail, mass are top notch(I own many old and new pieces and nothing compares to the originals yet imo) .

is my opinion ,but I think in the last 10 years Sideshow Collectibles has changed for the worse, previous premium formats seem far superior to these new for several reasons,I think that only have a good production photography

That said, even if it doesn't match the greatness of the original, I am still happy to have this one too. I will probably match my frog with the classic Thor though.
