This is interesting.

Hulk will have a 3 act arc that begins in Thor and ends in Avengers 4.

According to Mark Ruffalo, Kevin Feige approached him with the idea of giving Bruce Banner/The Hulk an arc that would span three film, kicking off in next month's Thor: Ragnarok and culminating with the still untitled fourth Avengers movie.

"So basically, Kevin [Feige] pulled me aside before this, and said, 'If you were gonna do a... if we were going to do a standalone Hulk movie, what would it be?' And I said, 'I think it should be this, this, this, and this and this, and ends up like this.' And he's like, 'I love that. Why don't we do that in the next three movies, starting with Thor 3 and then we go into Avengers 3 and 4.' And I was like, 'That sounds great!' And so we are at the beginning of this arc."

The Thor comedy hour.

Like it or hate it the MCU has been able to straddle the line between drama and humor so perfectly that it will be Marvel and not DC that will be remembered for the cinematic superhero age once it’s all over.

It’s not like Marvel wasn’t 10 miles ahead before DC decided to half ass do something or anything :lol

What I don't get about all the whining over the Thor movies is that it's not like Thor 1 or even 2 brought anything new to the table in terms of forced humor. TDW was mediocre at best but for different reasons outside of the humor. IM1 has RDJ cracking one-liner after one-liner even during serious moments - and that film is often regarded as the best MCU installment. :dunno

Yeah, Marvel has pretty much thrived on comedy from the outset. It's just gotten so formulaic now its like watching a sitcom. I wonder if Thor would be funnier with a laugh track?

The DC movies would be much better with a laugh track.

But from a forward thinking blueprint standpoint Marvel nailed it, impressive and to be respected even if you hate it.

DC serious blueprint was a disaster and their comedy blueprint will always be accused of copying Marvel so no matter what they’re the losers of this particular era and genre.

Now Marvel just needs to make a clown horror movie called Who.

Nothing screams "this movie is all about fun and who cares about proper development or going on an actual, satisfying journey with a character as they try to surpass their flaws" than retconning all the emotional baggage of a character just so he's happy and nigh carefree. Smdh, Marvel. This was unnecessary, and soley done so they could fit Banner into the goofy, fun atmosphere of the movie. Quite frankly it's appalling.
