From Bad Ass Digest:

We now have three Thor clips in the wild. None have Asgard. One has reasonable action. One has just ‘comedy.’ And this new one has Thor getting a needle in his butt and then passing out.

This is one of the most miserable campaigns I have seen for a film like this in forever. What movie is being sold? Who is Paramount trying to reach? Why are they seemingly torpedoing their own film? This movie comes out in less than a month and it’s still being sold like some kind of weird romantic comedy. “She’s a scientist. He’s a Norse god. Somehow they have to make it work!” I understand the idea of trying to reach outside the comic book audience, but does Paramount really think this is going to be such a big hit with the cat lady demographic?

The first clip and this third one seem like it'll be back to back scenes, so I'm not too worried about these 2 little minutes of an entire film. Being tazered and now this needle to the butt scenes are just for "cheap" laughs anyway

Maybe THATS the movie branagh made? He's not exactly known for his great action sequences.

The music is terrible. Im NOT feeling good about this one ladies and gents. Hope im wrong. Hemsworth seems a little stilted in his acting... like he only has one note. Getting shades of Fantastic Four.

I haven't lost hope. Granted the new clips are 'odd' but until the full film is viewed hard to judge. I assume being cast to earth Thor loses all super abilities. Thus he can be tasered, given a shot and unable to toss normal humans like rag dolls. :dunno The scenes bring humor but they leave people who know the character scratching their heads. Still excited for it...

Him being knocked out by a taser accomplishes 3 things:

1. Provides visual proof that he lost his powers.
2. Starts his path of having to be painfully humbled.
2. Provides comedic irony to the audience that the God of Thunder is knocked out by an electrical device.

Him being knocked out by an anesthesia needle is a continuation of steps 1, 2 and 3.

Once again it shows us that he has lost his powers.

Once again he will be reminded that he no longer has his powers and that he is on a journey of recovery and rebirth.

Once again it provides some comedy.

The question is, how many more times will these steps need to take place in the movie before he is Thor again. :dunno

If you start up your PS3, you'll find a menu with an icon that takes you to the "Playstation Store". Start up the Playstation Store, then click "movies" (or it might be called video, I'm not sure) and you'll find it there. Not sure what the cost is if there is one.

Ah ok, so you really need to pay for this huh?! :slap Ok, got it. Thanks for the help bro! :1-1:

Gotta agree with "Bad Ass" here...what is Paramount trying to sell here?
Granted, there have been good movies sabotaged by bad trailers/marketing before, but...there hasn't been a scene or clip or anything yet that has made this movie look interesting or engaging.

From the brief look at Asgard with Hopkins chewing scenery in a hall that the Rockettes would look at home kicking their heels up in to these lame, "fish out of water" forced humor clips to the poster art looking more like cologne ads, this movie seems to keep missing the mark.

"Green Lantern" had the same ill-fitting first trailer but they rebounded well with the WonderCon tease...here's hoping Paramount has something equally interesting to kick-start Thor to show us or this one will be the first summer corpse we step over to get to the rest of the summer slate of summer flicks....we'll see.

The general public by in large will never see those 3 clips I posted, just fanboys like us.
The mass media trailer/ poster campaign seems to have an altogether different more serious tone.
So stop with the hand wringing.
There are moments of levity in most comics and this doesnt seem wildly out of place. This isnt fuggin Shakespeare (which also had light moments).
What if fanboys had just focused on the comedic clips/moments of the LOTR trilogy?
The movie seems to have enough action moments to counter the lighter ones. I'll give Branagh the benefit of the doubt before Johnston.

Re: Thor (The Movie) *Spoiler- contains character images*
ComingSoon.net/SuperHeroHype's UK correspondent Ben Mortimer is attending the first-ever Kapow! Comic-Con in London, and he had a chance to see two more clips from Marvel Studios and Kenneth Branagh's Thor beyond the footage we saw at CinemaCon a few weeks back.

Here's Ben's description of the two clips shown:
The first follows on from Thor's banishment. Odin has fallen into a coma, known as an Odinsleep, consequently Loki has assumed the throne of Asgard. While he seems to have done so out of necessity, he has a sinister manner, reinforced when the Warriors Three and Sif come to plead for Thor's return from exile.

Loki, resplendent in shiny helmet and armour, and sat on Odin's throne, initially explains rationally that 'My first order can't be to undo my father's last,' a response almost accepted by the warriors come to plead on Thor's behalf. Before leaving, however, one of the warriors turns back, once more pleading the case for Thor. In response, Loki snaps and angrily refuses.

The second clip has Thor being interrogated by agent Coulson after his capture while trying to reclaim Mjollnir. He is sat in a white room, apparently within the compound which has been erected around the hammer, while Coulson talks at him. Parts of this scene seem familiar from footage we've already seen, but this seems to be an earlier segment.

After a brief period Coulson leaves the room, which should leave Thor alone, but it doesn't. As Thor looks back up, Loki appears, come to reveal to his brother that their father is dead, and that he has assumed the role of king of Asgard. The scene is an interesting indicator of the nature of their relationship. It would appear to be cordial, and trusting, at least at this early stage in the movie.

On hearing the news of his father's demise, Thor asks Loki if he might be permitted to return to Asgard. Loki refuses, claiming that 'The truce with Yodenheim is conditional upon your exile.' Given that Loki is the film's main villain, it's remarkable how sympathetic a character he is in this scene - no hint of things to come at all, even though he may well be lying to Thor about the possibility of his return.

Loki disappears shortly before Coulson reenters. Meanwhile, as Coulson continues to question Thor, Loki appears in the enclosure of the hammer, apparently unnoticed by the countless S.H.I.E.L.D. agents guarding and experimenting on it. He tries to lift Mjollnir from the earth, but in spite of his accession to the throne of Asgard, he proves incapable of budging the weapon.

Does that scene sound hilarious as well?
No, I didnt think so.

This movie is going to make Sucker Punch look like an Oscar contender.

I'm looking forward to Captain America though.

Give it time, there will probably be a DVD or Blu-Ray release, then you can Netflix it. From what I've read, it's more of a "motion comic" than an animated feature.

Game looks pretty damn fun to me. I'll get it for sure.

:horror

:nono

Josh, you're funny dude.

You know the same company behind this game are the same developers behind the horrendous IM1-2 games and a few other stinkers!.

They have already been split up by SEGA but their grubby hands were still involved with this THOR game.

The cinematic was atrocious, the voices sounded horribly low and weak.

I use more determination in my voice when I'm asking for pepperoni on my pizza than Thor did when he said "For Asgard!" :lol

This game will stink, there...I saved you $60.00 :hi5:
