I will also be keeping the exclusive version and will figure out something to do with it

Hmm, oooookay. Kind of begs the question: why order it?

I do like the poncho but the exclusive Luke does not resemble ANH Luke like the regular version does...

The exclusive Luke is not, and will not, be ANH Luke, so technically it is not the preferred representation of Luke. The regular version, as you say, is what we're accustomed to.

Your point is like saying "I'm going to avoid buying the McQuarrie Hasbro Stormtrooper because it's not what was seen on film, and will look odd in my collection." :p

To each his own, as Mr. Campos likes to say. :D

Same here cancelled and keeping the exclusive. It is my first 1/4 and I can't wait till it gets here.

re

I'm in 2 minds about doing the same. :\ I will probably do as you guys have done, and cancel the reg.

Re: re

Looks like they can't get rid of old Luke. When was the exclusive put up for order.? I never got chance to get it.

Re: re

Plus the exclusive has a edition run of 500 so that takes away from the regular edition orders. So they are bound to get cancelled orders for him.

Re: re

Exclusive sold out in like 5 minutes. It's the SDCC exclusive...

Actually that was the 100 non-attendee exclusive Lukes that sold out in less than 5 minutes. The attendee alottment actually took a few days to completely sell out.

I figure people cancelling regular orders to get the exclusive does have a lot to do with it, but the regular has actually been available for quite some time. It has been offered repeatedly on second chance offers and still available from other retailers. Not sure why old Luke's not getting the love the other pieces are getting. Maybe people are waiting on a Jedi Luke and can't afford to have more one version. :dunno

Re: re

I made the mistake of cancelling my previous order for the 1/4 Luke; so, luckily, for me, it was put up in the second chance offer. Both the SDCC Exclusive and the regular version are going to be awesome pieces.

Re: re

Hey M.R. just noticed your Gentle Giant Maquette's display with the cover! Looks great that way!

Re: re

Thanks Viking! :D It's a temporary solution until I get around to getting individual cases for them. Both Yoda and Asajj are in their own case, and I just need to work on getting cases for the others.

Re: re

Yeah, mini-rock, the entire display looks awesome. Mine is far from being that neat and structured :bow

Re: re

Thank you Oxbeard. :D There is still much I want to do. I know the 1/4 Luke will make a perfect addition though. 8)

Re: re

sweet collection mini rock!!! wish i had the money to get all the blasters but oh well. im still thinking about picking up one of the stormtrooper blasters, can you give me your opinion on it??? it wont be for a month or so because i just had to order another darth sidious lightsaber so now im broke. my dad works with acrylic so if you need a case made send me the dimensions and maybe i can get him to make one for you.

Re: re

Hey MiniRock, thats a great idea putting everthing under acrylic. Where did you get them and in the GG in particular what exact sizes are they (I would like to get the smallest possible that still fits them).

Jesse

re

Fbulous collection, Mini-rock...and a belated welcome. :wave

I would certainly be interested in those protective cases.

Re: re

hairlesswookiee, any one of the blasters would be a great addition to any collection IMO. I really like the Stormie blaster even if the trigger doesn't work; it's very big and very heavy. If you can snag one for a good price, go for it. There's no doubt in my mind you wouldn't be happy with it.

jesse, here are the dimensions for the cases I have so far:

Chewie - 12"w X 10"d X 16"h
3-PO - 9"w X 9"d X 13"h
Vader - 17"w X 12"d X 17"h (mine is 18x12x18 but is a little big)
Sandtrooper on Dewback - 18"w X 12"d X 14"h

The large case to hold all of the GG maquette's is 18"w X 14"d X 12"h, and the individual case for Yoda is 5"w X 5"d X 7"h and Asajj is 6"w X 6"d X 12"h.

I haven't bought individual cases for the other three maquettes, but I did take measurements to have ready for when I did. The measurement for the OWK is 9"w X 7"d X 11"h, ARC Trooper 6"w X 7"d X 9"h, and Padme 6"w X 6"d X 9"h. I think that is all of them. If there are any other's you need, just let me know. :)

Gazmog, I get all of my cases from www.casesforcollectibles.com; some they will have on their site and some are special order. They are very nice and usually get back to you within a business day.

Again, thank you for the compliments, and the warm welcome guys. :)
