I just got my Tyrion and I'm in love! I chipped my book while being super excited and doing a bunch of poses with him, but it's no big deal. I'll probably just touch it up with some marker.

Here's some pictures with my crappy camera, they were fun to take though :D At this point most of the poses have been captured so I figured I'd change things up a bit...

I know there is Eddard Stark and now Tyrell Lannister but have other figures been announced? Just wondered how deep they are going to wade into this series. Also, any accessories? I guess there was a 1/6 throne released by some other company long ago but it's no longer available.

Tyrell Lannister? You're mixing a few houses there :lol

I figured you did, but the Tyrells are another family on the show so it was kind of funny :lol

There are SO MANY freaking characters in the show, it can be hard to keep track. I couldn't keep track of most of the people from the books because of all of the names and nothing but a bunch of similar names to tell them apart. Tywin Lannister was just a background character to me reading the books, but he was a domineering, commanding character on the show. So I've been able to follow storylines much better now that I can visually separate and identify characters. I'd almost recommend watching the show then reading the books for people to follow the story better just so they can have something to remember the characters easier.

For me it's books > show , Buttmunch is right. There are a tremendous amount of characters in the books. Lots of history and background stuff too. It's hard to keep them all straight sometimes. Tbh, I know some people that were disappointed when they read the books because they found out that their favorite characters, while very important to the story, didn't have a lot of page time. Two of the biggest that come to mind are Tywin and Robb Stark. While I felt that Tywin was also a commanding character in the book ( I loved every time he popped up) he just didn't have a lot of page time. And I am extremely happy that they gave him more to do in the show. I will say this, Charles Dance is PERFECT for the role, and while there are some physical appearance differences from book to show it's exactly whom I pictured when I read the book. I danced a little jig when I found out he was cast. While the show does more and more of it's own thing as time goes on I think overall the show has been great. It can probably be said that I love reading more than I love watching movie/shows, but at the same time( and this is a rarity) I am not a book purist when it comes to adaptions. Both are completely different narratives and it's silly to expect word for word, scene for scene perfect screen adaption. Besides, I like that that Walking Dead differs from the comics and the same goes for GoT. I may not like all the changes but there are some things the show does better than the books, and some things the books do better than the show.

It's funny because not being able to visually separate and identify the characters on the show (still way too many damn characters in GOT) is one of my main critiques. How many middle aged receding hairline British dudes can you cast? It's like... Why did Stannis show up and help kill lady stark and Robb? Then you read the GOT geeks on the net going crazy over someone called Bolton. And I'm like, who the F is Bolton!? (Because the show also does a **** job of setting up characters)

I'm a huge fan of the show (and I'm waiting till it's all over before reading the books because I want to be surprised by as much as possible), but in all honesty, that has seriously got to be difficult for the casting directors for the show!

Uhh, please put this sort of stuff in a Spoilers tag for those of us who only started watching.

Sean

It's not that common to put stuff that's multiple years old in spoiler tags. When something is two years old, it's not really a spoiler, just saying. ;) Maybe we need an "unbeknownst ancient history" tag. hehe.
