It's shame that with the high production value on that custom, the scale/proportions are so so wrong. Excellent sculpting, tailoring and paint work, but nothing fits together here, not even the poor wolf.

Even though Ghost is way too small, that's a pretty amazing custom.

The next official Thrones figure from 3Zero is Ned. The proto I've seen pictures of is solid (with some room for improvement, of course). Hopefully they'll show some pics soon. I've heard rumblings that Jon Snow is in line behind Ned but I haven't seen anything yet.

Now, if only they'd just get moving on this line. God, they're making figures slower than Martin writes!

Saw the Tyrion proto on line and it convinced me to go this route for my first venture into poseable figures. GOT can be a massive line and I am sure there is more memorable characters to come. I just hope that we get a fair few pieces of key characters from this line and it doesn't get dropped with many of the main players not represented, had enough of that with SS LOTR lines.
Ned will be a welcome addition as would John Snow and Daenery's etc, but I would hope we get some generic or character pieces to show some of the intricate armours such as the Kingsguard Knights.

To be sure, the weapons, especially the metal sword, are masterpieces. Every individual part is excellent, IMO. It's the sum that falls short of the mark.

Please don't elaborate any more than this...you might end up banned for 2 weeks :lol

At this pace, we'd be lucky to get one representative figure from each of the main Houses. :slap

Looks like Tyrion is going to be sporting a beard during his exile from King's Landing.

Agreed wholeheartedly. It's so ill proportioned it's hard to believe they felt comfortable at their final product. It gets worse when the cloak is off. It actually looks funny. I chuckled. The craftsmanship of the outfit and accessories is outstanding though.

Didja get a look at Neds face? If so, how was the likeness? And did they fix the damn laces on the tunic?

I thought the face was really good. I didn't think the paint work on the particular proto I saw was as strong as it could have been, though, as his eyes were ever so slightly crossed. That threw off the likeness just a bit. But overall, the sculpt was really solid.

I was impressed with the outfit. It's the Winterfell look with the black cloak. Ice and his regular sword were included (and they seem to be metal, which was a nice surprise). Lots of layers, lots of different materials. The textures seemed right, although the colors may not have been final (his quilted under tunic seemed a little too light gray). And nothing was really weathered yet, which I think would make a big difference. I assume he'll get weathered in production ... I mean, this IS ThreeZero ... it's kind of their thing. :lol

What's wrong with the laces? (While I'm a huge fan of the show, I admit to not being an expert in Thrones costumes.)

Ok, Im curious and excited now. Would you say the likeness is on par with Tyrion, better or worse?

From what I saw in the teaser the laces that ran up the front of the tunic were immediately noticeable as too light in color. I wouldn't consider myself an expert in GoT costume either but that just stood out. I'd post pics but I just dont feel like it. :lol

Im looking forward to receiving Tyrion later this year, but I'd be SO much more in anticipation if I could get a 1/6 scale Iron Throne for like $50. Anyone else with me?

For $50 I'd be down for one. :lol

But unless its cheap I'm not overly excited or in need of an Iron Throne. The only people I'd want on the throne( if I we're to get one) would be Joffrey, possibly Tywin. Ned Stark on the Iron Throne doesn't feel right. Yeah, he sat it when Robert was off hunting, and it was cool for publicity shots but no.

You and me both, which is why I picked the nice $50 price - even though there are still a great many things that would be more useful to me at that price. ;) I would like it simply to sit empty in the background behind Tyrion - and possibly one or two other figures depending on what gets released. I'll have to make due with a photo of the throne otherwise.

Oh, yeah, I'd say the sculpt is definitely on par with Tyrion. And hopefully the paint job will be a little better on the production pieces.

The laces on the front of the leather vest/tunic seemed to be the same brown color as the the tunic itself. The thing that caught my eye was the long, quilted garment (doublet?) that he wears under the brown tunic. I checked some pictures from the show and it's supposed to be darker gray than the proto, but like I said, this didn't look like it was 100% done yet, so maybe the colors or materials weren't completely sorted yet.

Maybe the way we jumped on them for their first efforts in the development of Tyrion that they are playing Ned a little more close to the chest.
