Re: Thundercats 1/4 Scale Mixed Media Statues by Popcultureshock?

I liked the Mumra PF in every aspect until I saw the backside of the base. Total design flub.

hey everyone i have a exclusive lion o on order that im going to cancel. i thought i would let everyone on here know before i did if someone was interested in getting him before i canceled. if anyone wants dibs let me know. i never have tried but maybe sideshow can change the shipping address this early and it can ship right to you. if noone wants ill probably cancel in the next couple of days.

Huh??? Now I have to go and see what you're talking about.

Well yeah, so? lol

btw It is an awesome piece, I am just not sure why Jerry did that for behind the base. I think a full sculpt all around would have been better.

Checked out the back of the base for this piece and I must say...the most plain looking back to a base I've ever seen from Sideshow. I will say that Jerry and PCS has never given much creativity to the base of his statues. So, on that note the base is 10X better than any other base he's released with any of his other statues. The SF line just a plain ol' black oval style base. The TC lineup looks to have at least some thought going into the making of the base.

I think a lot of people cancelled their Lion-O EX pre-orders and because you need to pay a NRD on the Mumm-Ra EX fewer people aren't taking the plunge unless they absolutely, positively know that they want the statue.

Both Lion-O and Mumm-Ra regulars are still up for pre-order, though. Which, I agree, is strange (no NRD on those). Just wait until these come out and people have seen how good they are; then we'll see an upswing in interest. Hopefully. :lecture

Well you can buy the regular from other sites for only $315 so im trying to decide if $60 is worth it for the EX. Light ups features are never used other than day 1. Sword is cool I guess.

:goodpost: Didn't think of that. :slap With that being the case then that's another good reason why the EX Mumm-Ra isn't sold out yet. And, you're right, light-up features aren't to everyone's liking, either.

Well, even though I only use the light up feature once to make sure it works then it never goes on again, I still think if there is ANY chance you will ever want, or need to sell it, once its completely sold out you should be able to get so much more for the ex on the secondary market. I have yet to sell any Sideshow piece I have ever bought, and I don't plan to. I think if its a piece you plan on keeping forever, you might be just fine with the savings on the regular on the retail market.

Yea your right. A lot of people are not liking that NRD. Myself being one of them. But hey, when he comes out I know I'll be sure as glad that I ordered him.

I guess I'm one of the weird collectors, because I like to use my light up features every now and then. I would say that I turn on all my lights at least once a month, so as to not let the batteries corrode in the battery cavity. I used then enough to have had to change them a few times already. Nothing beats a LED light show to highlight an EX collection. The more LED lights, the merrier the LED light show.

Urgh, this Mumra is so tastefully done. With the lights effect, I am so tempted to order the Ex. Now I regrets I didn't order Lion O since I didn't want to start another line.
