Bought mine from the bay. Too bad playmates dropped the ball on the TMNT Classics. Looking forward to seeing the final look on NT-02 & NT-03.

I forget what his exact schpiel to me was. But he said something like he was one of two distributors in all of the US or just California for this piece. Right now, he's on his third order/shipment for the figure, and because he's biting the cost of shipping to get these to the US, he needs a minimum of 18 ordered before he can go through and import them to his shop. I asked yesterday, and he's up to something like 6 or 7, and he asked me to let any potential buyers know that he needs to have the 18 ordered by tomorrow evening. He's a cool dude, and if you call his number on the website he'll give you a price of $165 shipped if you wanna get on the list. Otherwise, you're gonna be stuck with eBay and the one or two guys that are selling them direct from China (and who knows how long those will take to get to you through EMS shipping, let alone the condition)

saw that Ernie Reyes Jr needs emergency kidney transplants and has been in ICU. Really sad as I just saw him at a local comic con and he seemed in good health at the time.

Hell everyone. I was hoping someone could help me out with a question I have about the Playmates classic figures. I picked up a set yesterday from eBay (Melbourne seller) and I noticed that the bandages on Donatello’s staff was grey instead of white, while on every other version I’ve seen they should be white.


Had some trouble uploading larger images so this is the best I could do for now.

I’ve done some looking around about the bootlegs that are going around of this set, but except for the grey staff these ones don’t have any of the hallmarks of the bootlegs;

• They’ve got movable fingers and toes.
• They’ve got cut joints in their thighs.
• They have the correct name on each stand instead of having the same name repeated on all bases.
• they have the playmates logo on the front and bak of the box as well as the “Inspired by the original tmnt…” sticker.
• And Raph and Mich have the “Warning choking hazard” on the front bottom of the packaging while Don and Leo don’t (which also seems consistent with the official version).

I just keep coming back to the fact that the wrap on the staff is grey instead of white like everybody else’s version looks like it has. The colour on my Don also looks a lot darker then the images I've seen.

Another person posted in this thread in Feb 2014 with images of Don with the same grey wrapping and was told that that was a bootleg, but besides that the staff the figures do seem to have all the features of the real version.

Anybody have any ideas, am I just being too cautious?

Mine is white, but then I'm in the US and I got the first run of them. Maybe the grey is an Aus exclusive? Maybe it's what the second run were colored? Maybe you just got lucky and got a factory flub... But I think you're safe and you got legit ones

Looking forward to the Shredder - although the teaser appears he will be based more on a beefier Shredder (like in the TMNT 2 movie), than the early 1990's cartoons.

Any chance we will ever get an April O' Neil to complement the TMNT Classics line (that Playmates cancelled)?

I've seen a couple nice customs but none ever for sale. I doubt First Gokin will ever make an April since this appears to be a line catered more towards an audience looking for dynamic action figures.

So the main thing is Donatello's staff colour, with the definitely official ones being white and these ones being grey.

And Donotellos colour in general, with the official one being much lighter green then these ones which are a much murkier green. Leonardo also looks a bit too dark.

I noticed the the ones on mine the hook section where the pack hangs from is facing the right side, while on the official ones it's always faceing the left.

The official one have very clean thighs. while mine has a very clear join running down the thigh.

As a whole these ones look generally a bit rougher around the edges then the official ones. You can see mould marks from the manufacturing process, like around the knees and more flaking off bits of plastic.

The serial number on the official ones is to the right of the brick, while on mine it's larger and to the left of the brick.

And of course these are a totally different set of obvious bootlegs that are made from the NECA turtles mould, repainted and put in the Classic Collection packaging. These are being sold in regular retail stores, If they've gotten their hands on such a exact version of the packaging then that makes if more likely the above figures are counterfit, even with the company logo printed on the packaging.

Edited; Thanks toyrewind ; Yes it does look like the thighs are on backwards. The muscle budge is on the back of mine, and on the front of the originals.

The guy from Lunar who is a vendor said if these do well they will keep making more and that characters like April,casey Jones etc are game

Good point ink. I'm loving the look of these, but I'm expecting a hefty price tag. If they charge $65 for that 6.5" barely articulated first turtle then I'm a little worried about what they could be asking for these guys. The good thing is they can use the same base body for all 4 so they would be cheaper to manufacture.

They're kinda not 1/6 stylistically though. They completely lack the mixed media aspect which kinda sucks imo.
