You also really love Indy. I really like the Indy movies, but for the most part, my biggest fandom is Indy himself, and Marion and Short Round, Henry Sr. and Toht and Mola Ram. After that, characters becomes parts of the story but don't matter much to me. I'm somewhere between super fan and casual I think, so figure purchases boil down for me to how much I like the piece as a figure, character aside, which is why Belloq is an unappealing villain compared to Toht.

That's what I'm kinda driving at. In the discussion of villain figures helping a line, it has to be looked in a broad sense from causal to super fandom, and I just feel there are elements required for a figure to boost sales outside of the more super fandom level.

Right I do love the Indy films. That does play a large role for me. There are figures I would get that some would pass on because of the degree of fandom.

I agree you have plan things for all involved. Thats how things tend to work the best. I think though Belloq is though is one most Indy fans are into. Dietrich is one I could see not selling well and being more what you're talking about. Even as much as I love Indy there are figures I will most likely pass on.

The test for Belloq will be how long it takes for the regular edition to sell out. The idol pedistal will make the Ex. a huge draw. I'd get Toht Ark or no Ark though, it's just icing on the cake.

I agree. Its a early test for sure. I would have gotten Toht and Belloq anyways though. :lol

Spalko also has the selling power of giving a base sculpt for custom Galadriels.

Honestly even though I was lukewarm about KOTCS I would buy Spalko, Older Indy, Mutt, a Crystal Skeleton, a Cemetery Warrior without much hesitation. I buy what I like and an interesting design and well done figure for me is usually more important than fandom of the actual product line.

Done right, I'd buy Mutt, I'll pretty much buy any Indy that's representative of a film, not sure I'd spend money on German disguise or Map Room but a proper TOD, LC and KOTCS Indy I'd get.

Exclusive....light up head?

KOTCS Indy exclusive....One of the dead spanish conquesdor's knife?

Mutt Exclusive = comb?

I don't see Sideshow touching KOTCS, but I'd get Indy for sure. The Fridge would need to be the exclusive of course.

Assuming everything goes that long they will. Its part of the line. It would be as dumb as skipping over any of the SW movies folks may not care for.

Depends on what kind of exclusive they want. If they want an Indy styled one where its an additional piece but not amazingly necessary I could see it being the letters/map. It could even be his hat that is seen only once or twice:

but if they wanted to go big with it, I'd think it'd naturally be a non working motorcycle, a display piece in all senses of the word that Mutt could sit on to pose but wouldn't actually work.
