Yup.. the "tote" pronunciation is correct... despite the fact I am a police Detective.. I got my undergrad degree in foreign language ( German ).. obviously put that degree to great use !.. anyhoo, "Tot" is German for "dead".. there isn't a German word "toht".. but "tot" being so close I think that is where they were going with that.. evil bad guy.. name like "dead"... makes sense to me...

Actually I just contridicted myself! I meant to say "Tot" but I typed "Toht" like "tote bag" anyway I am sure mfisher is right on the money. Lucas has pulled that name trick before ie: Dark InVADER aka Darth Vader and Count Dooku with the word "doku" meaning poison in Japanese, I think. And yes make with the pics! I need to know if I should keep my exclusive!

I always figured Kasdan/Spielberg/Lucas picked "Toht" pronounced "tote" to make it sound similar to "toad", which also could have inspired the casting. He does look a bit toad-like, don't you think?

But the Toht character was called Belzig in the original screenplay.

Nope, that was Dietrich... or Shliemann in the original script. And the robotic arm was during the early concept stage of the film I believe.

Just checked and mine is here in town as of 6:16 am! Wonder what the odds of getting him a day early are? Like I said, they surprised me with Indy. He was supposedly delayed a day, but still got delivered on the original scheduled delivery day. LOL, I even called them to see if I could come down to the UPS distro center and pick him up, but they said no.

I'm back on schedule! Due to be delivered today!.... I have "Uncle Toht" coming to the house and I have to pick up my son after work so I'm about 12 hours away. Pretty jazzed for this piece.
