Re: Toht didn't use a Luger.

yeah... lame... but there are so many really good WW2 weapons on the market.. even had they included the correct Walther I would have most likely replaced it with one from DML anyway... they pretty much have the best stuff out there for WW2 weapons..

Re: Toht didn't use a Luger.

It is technically more accurate this way because the film is set in 1936 the Walther P-38 didnt come into service until 1938 at the earliest so it is more historically realistic for toht to carry a Luger.

Well, it's not film accurate and I prefer my figures to be film accurate, not "technically accurate".

I've actually brought this issue up before. It's a little perplexing seeing as SS went as far as including the Browning with Indy and the exclusive "Greedo killer" blaster with Han Solo, two weapons that the casual fan wouldn't even know about. They are usually pretty good with the little details like this. I could be wrong, but I think the only time we ever see a Luger in the Indy films is when Vogel holds one to Elsa's head in Castle Brunwald in TLC.

Hasbro gave a Luger to all the Germans it gave pistols to, as well as Henry for some reason, and I would fully expect them to have given one to Toht and probably been ok with it, but Sideshow is a different story.

Re: Toht didn't use a Luger.

This is another one that didn't make sense to me. You can clearly see the gun in the film so what would possess SS to give the figure something else completely?

Moved the gun discussion here...

This may have been brought up already, but if one wanted to get the correct gun...does anyone have any recommendations on where to get one that has the same level of detail that the ones Sideshow provides with the figures are?

I just got an e-mail with the UPS shipping info! Toht should be here by monday!

Back to the gun discussion though, it would be awesome if some one could post a link on where to get a p38 and some glasses. I belive there was a link to get the glasses from monkey depot, but it didn't work.

I got all four notices yesterday, the UPS Quantum, the "now shipped" notice, the change in status and the final invoice. I usually get these smattered over the course of a few days, and I don't think I ever get the change in status notice when the change is to "shipped". Is Sideshow getting more efficient?

Oh, and Toht's getting here next Wednesday, not Thursday like I originally said!

They probably just realized they were behind so they needed to step it up.

Glad you guys are getting your Tohts finally! He's a great figure!

Toht looks good; not wowed but good.

The ark is nicer inperson. Not completely happy with it. Although, there are many inaccuracies the one they should have gotten right is the shine.

I just got hosed!

UPS said they made an attempt -- can you say bull^^^^ -- now I don't get a 2nd attempt until Monday! And I won't be home then either.

This TOHT is really becoming a pain in the ass. I have to say, right now, I'm Toht-tally over this whole figure.
