I just got hosed!

UPS said they made an attempt -- can you say bull^^^^ -- now I don't get a 2nd attempt until Monday! And I won't be home then either.

This TOHT is really becoming a pain in the ass. I have to say, right now, I'm Toht-tally over this whole figure.

Ba-dum bum... that's almost as bad as the joke I just posted in the G.I. Joe ROC thread. :lol

After looking at the head sculpt I'm impressed with SS. It's not near HT/Enterbay quality, but it's really good. Could of used a little more aging, however.
Joints are nice and tight. Indy's belt should have been made like the belt on Toht's trench. It's more sturdy and isn't falling apart like Indy's.

Got Toht and I'm very, very impressed. I can't understand what people are complaining about at all. The sculpt is fantastic, the paint is great and even the glasses aren't nearly as bad as everyone as making out. The outfit is perfect too, the tailoring on the Pro is excellent.

Neither do I...

I put up a fight, got my local UPS center to stay open for me, and got my damn TOHT...

And since the ARK seems to be such a bone of contention...

I think it looks nice in the right light. In fact, I see no reason to plate it now that it's in hand.

I haven't had too much time to fiddle with him, but this TOHT rocks!

I know, you all figured I'd say that. But it's true. The sculpt's are terrific. I think I got a good melty too.

The glasses are better in hand, but still I'd prefer a slimmer frame.

Clothing looks great. I have no collar problem at all. Maybe it's been pressed in the box for so long it flattened out. :monkey3

And the Ark... the ark... it's heavy as hell... looks great I think. Yes, I do believe those that said it's a bit oversized may be right. It might be a tad big. But it doesn't look wrong in scale in hand. It's also a lot more shiny than I was expecting. Granted I haven't seen it in daylight yet. But I was expecting to be somewhat disappointed... and I'm really happy with it. Very happy I held on to it.

The extras all look great. Poker and hanger are excellent. The burned hand mark is a little soft on mine, maybe needs a quick drybrush to bring it out more.

My only real nit is a small ding on the hat's brim right near the front. But I'm hoping SS will send me another. It's not too bad but it is noticeable enough to bring attention.

Man, you get a lot of stuff too -- not even counting the ark.

I just can't get enough of this head...

Have you seen this head yet?

Congrats, Wor-Gar! At last you've touched to Toht! :)

Shots look great...I'll have to pick this up someday....

Looking forward to your post-futz shots...

Thanks guys!

He's a fun figure, and that melty head just makes it.

As to the ark -- yep, it does look better at night. Glad I got this thing after nightfall after all. It will display great in a shelf with a light over it. Now that I see it in daylight it does look a bit flat like many of the pictures have shown. I still think it's better than I was expecting -- after all the comments about it my expectations went down considerably.

The detail is nice and crisp on the side panels, not soft. The weight is impressive. The poles are heavy too, and the real material wrap looks great on them. As I don't have the Hasbro ark, this one will do just fine.

But I got this mostly for Toht of course, and his awesomeness gets overshadowed by the ark sometimes. All in all, this is still one of the best Sideshow figures I own.

And I still can't get over the fact that they included the MELTY HEAD. That alone rocks!

Final TOHT-ness...

Easy futz: Shortened the pants like with Belloq for a more tailored look, added some padding to the gut to fill him out a bit. Nothin' else. Simple.

I need those glasses everyone got now. I'm thinking maybe just a brushing with brass paint might help these glasses (the light really bounces off these and makes them look crazy big in pics).

Anyway, if anyone can remind me what glasses to get I'd be mighty appreciative.

Just opened mine last night! I LOVE toht, even though his crappy glasses were pinned in the plastic, and one ear loop is bent way out of whack.. grr.. he still looks amazing. Very little futzing needed. Just gonna try to flatten out a part of his collar which was pinched up because of the elastic in the tie. But a GREAT figure, overall.

And the ark?
After being very sad from reading all the threads.. i actually love it.
I think it looks great, and it actually has a bit of shine to it. Looks great in a lot of different light too. VERY happy with it. So yeah. Overall, not upset i paid so much for them anymore. I don't feel like i got ripped off. Which is nice, considering sideshow has left me feeling a little.. ravaged.. lately. ;p

Great pics everyone! Hopefully i'll pop some up soon too!

Very classy, sir...

Thanks, Jedibear. Simple pose, and not movie accurate, but what the heck. I love the poker but I wanted the coat open. :) Some others here have much more dramatic action poses which look great.

Wor-Gar, how do you keep the arms of the coat not flare out when he wears it on his shoulders?

I used the magnet trick that Deak Starkiller posted here. Works well. Had some magnets laying around. I didn't fix them so they might fall out when I futz him any more. I think I'll use some sticky blu-tac or that sticky gummy stuff that you get when credit cards are mailed to you. A little 'sticky' on the sleeve and just press it against the coat. Or magnets, which work great too.

And congrats Husker!

See? All the negative comments posted about the ark's inaccuracies and the months of waiting have actually paid off! People's expectations were lowered so much they were actually MORE pleased when the final product showed up!
