They have an existing Spider-Man and now they are making a venom movie that exist outside the universe where Spider-Man doesn't play a part. Not to mention this movie was announced after the deal was made. Sony has had great casting before, the amazing movies had good casting but that's not enough to save the movie.
Just seems like a mess and a way for Sony to destroy the franchise further by causing fatigue

He made comments that he thought the script was trash, then back tracked on that and said it was because of conflict in schedule with the other film but he accepted that other role after agreeing to ss squad.
