Here's a brief summary of my thoughts on this excellent piece:-
Packaging: Can't fault it. It would have taken one hell of a beating to inflict any damage on the piece. I have nothing but praise for how it was packed. If I were to criticise anything, it would be the choice of courier - Yodel do have a habit of chucking things over garden fences, but I'm just nit-picking here, and in their defence this arrived safely and hadn't been mistreated in any way en route
The eagle itself is grand. It's a substantial beast, no getting around that, but it's scaled awesomely to be a display piece. There are no obvious flaws other than a small horizontal dent along part of the right hand side, but this looks deliberate. The paint app is excellent; the silver is uniform throughout, and while there are a few spots where the brush strokes take away from the effect of the weathering slightly, it's only from up close. From any kind of distance it looks amazing. Most importantly, it gets the wife seal of approval, so that's a big plus
The stand works brilliantly and is so unobtrusive it's barely noticeable. Top marks.
All in all I'd say it's a winner, and I'm sure once it's mounted on the wall it'll look even better.
The more I look at it, the more I like it
Here are a few pictures (if I've managed to work imageshack right...)
