Too many interests...

I have too many interests. Resident Evil, Godzilla, Star Wars, Metal Gear, Aliens, Predator, Marvel, DC, Transformers and so on. It'd be too much to keep up with if I had to buy everything.

Geez, that reminds... I follow Godzilla too.
I went real simple though. I've got Bandai's Final Wars G and Mechagodzilla (2004).

You have 5 options.....

1. Admit yourself into the crazy house.

2. Quit cold turkey.

3. Accept the reality of it and deal with it.

My main focus is PFs. If I deviate from that I don't go any smaller in scale than 1:5 in terms of statues or busts. My main focus is Sideshow. I don't bother with any other company, with rare exceptions (ex. I recently bought the NECA 1:1 Gremlins stunt prop, and I'm currently collecting the HT Cap figures).

To keep my collection in check, I buy one representative figure from a film property. For ex., for LOTR/The Hobbit, it's GTG PF. For SW, it's the Stormtrooper PF. For DC, it's the Batman PF. etc. The one exception to this is Indiana Jones, as I buy multiple collectibles from multiple companies of this franchise.

To keep my collection even further in check, I have two display cases. One houses my Indiana Jones collection. The other houses everything else.

By keeping my collection so confined it forces me to be extra picky about what I buy and how it fits in with everything else. It prevents me from spending willy nilly on something just because I think it looks cool. In fact, I only have a few pieces left on my list and my collection is considered complete.

The only thing I collect beyond that are vintage/sealed movie puzzles, Indiana Jones artwork, Hot Wheels volkswagon beetle diecast vehicles, and currently, the Mondo Tom Whalen Looney Tunes posters. But those purchases are far and few inbetween. Maybe one or two purchases a year.

It's actually fun being a multi-versed collector, and here's why. You never get bored on the medium you're fixated on. I found when I was collecting hockey cards, I lost interest fast. When I got into comics, that grew tiresome right away. Guess that comes from being a part of the ADD Generation.

I find myself deviating towards a lot of things, and one has to be cautious because there is a narrow margin in terms of being a collector and hoarder. You never want to become a hoarder.

Lets see what I collect...

SideShow statues
Hot Toys figures
Original art
Game worn sports jerseys and equipment
Beer taps
Beer glasses

I am looking to sell some stuff, and focus on must own pieces. Ones that blow my mind. Less is more. And quality over quantity.

that is true, but the way I see it is, How many Terminators or Jokers or batmans or predators do you really need?
do you need one for each look? or one for each different scene?

I started getting Every Jason Sideshow made, but I sold a couple and trying to sell others, I just don't need every Jason they made,
I like him a lot but one or two are enough, I rather have 2 jasons and leatherface and Freddy and Frankenstein (which is what it is in my collection) than 8 jasons, I mean, the collection just looks nicer with the variety

I do for certain characters. I have captain america in every scale SS has made

Yes
I have to say I like to collect, if it's not one thing, it's another
Ever since I made more money it's gotten a little out of hand, but there have been good things that come about because of it. Joined a producer company, can spend money on other people and charity of my choice now too :)

For the most part, I just about have every Iron Man made so far
Statues and HT for the most part, no more toys

It's now more about IM/Cap and Dc for me, selling is easy to do to keep the collection fresh

For the most part i'm sticking to one version of each character except my absolute favourites.

So characters like Spider-Man i'll get more of. Looking at my collection i've got 5 Spider-Man's and a sixth on the way with 2 Spider-Man characters with a third on the wat,
