So how many T-somethings are there in this movie? T-600, T-700, T-RIP, T-giganto, T-bag... hell, there may even be a T-McG.

So who's the real villain in T:Salvation? Marcus has already been blown in the commercials. T-800, then T-1000, then T-X... so now what? An array of robots for merchandizing is going to get T-dious in the movie.

T-houghts?

I can sense from your frustrations that we feel the same way! :lol I would like some light shed on this topic too because as of right now my motivation to see Salvation is no different than any other summer movie.

I see NO connection from what i've seen to the masterpieces T1 / T2.

i foresee the new film as something all us old fans can pick apart but all the terminator newbies will think it is the second coming.

:lol True. Isn't it always that way... at least for a month, then everyone turns on it.

I fear this film will not have a singular menace. I think it will just play out like a vid game, with multiple levels that get more complex and more crowded with CGI multiples of similar design. The massive T-? is suppose to WOW us I'm sure -- except that they've blown that surprise already. The T-cycles sequence is probably their "truck chase" sequence.

It certainly looks BIG... but I haven't seen anything frighteningly menacing yet.

You only listed 4 new T-machines. Is that a lot? Those are the only new T's we know of, the rest are old (or at least ones we've seen before).

Does anyone know what the name of the machine motorcycles (from the trailer)? I hope they're called "T-My First Bicycle".

I think in Salvation anything with a "T-" in front of it will be a enemy! Apart from the T-R.I.P obviously.

This movie suffers in the same way all movies suffer if there's simply an army of "monsters" without a defining 'leader'... there's no finale/showdown for your hero.

If you think about it -- keeping the desire for sequels in mind as well -- this film cannot have a real ending. Best Connor can do is save some human slaves and destroy some random enemy HQ. He can win a battle but not the war... therefore, we will all most likely be left hanging. How do you really end a movie that's a time loop anyway? Especially when you have no main bad guy to blow up.

I think the liquid Terminator from the Sarah Connor Chronicles was listed as a T-1100, or something like that. Add that one to the list. And wasn't Arnie in T3 called a T-850?

It appears Terminator endoskeletons are the equivalent of the John Madden football videogames - a new model every year, regardless if one is actually needed.

What if Marcus is a sleeper agent, and Skynet activates him as a self defence mechanism once Connor gets close to his goal. The T-RIP could be a bad ass fight at the end, especially if we were under the impression he was a real human, then found out he was a terminator but didnt know, then protects John but turns bad against his will. It sounds rediculous but theres alot of room to make it work.

Except that's exactly what I'm expecting. So no surprise. In fact, if they don't do ALL OF THAT I'll be disappointed.

It sucks when they show so much in trailers and commercials.

Yea I agree, trailers have become glorified mini movies that end up telling the entire story. Theres an episode of Entourage that summed it up perfectly.

But still, there could be something crazy we never saw coming.

Marcus will.........

Help John Connor fight the T-101 before it travels back to 1984

There is a defined leader in a sense, Skynet is a giants CPU hardrive so if you destroyed that and the T-1000000 Terminators are beat!

Moto-Terminators.

I am definitely NOT the audience for this movie anymore.

The dynamics have certainly changed, its not going to be about a beloved old Arnold running around a dreary city and facing off with one deadly foe. The hunt for John Connor is more or less changed.

I dont know why, but Im ok with it. Most movies wouldnt recieve such acceptance as this has, which is why I think the Matrix sequels were poor, they strayed too far, and that explains the generally poor reception of the SW prequels. Maybe because we sort of saw that vision of the future in the movies all along, though even that is way differant now. I can only hope it doesnt take the SW prequel path and give us events that lead up to what we all remembered and wanted, and that we dont only get like 10 mins of that sort of thing in the last film.
