It's very difficult for me to take any list seriously that doesn't include even one of the LOTR movies.

I think he just meant "decade" as in the PAST 10 years.

But the past 10 years is from 2000.........because 2009 is pretty much over. Counting 0 to 9 you get 10.

Shocked that Jack Sparrow hasn't ranked on but one person's list so far.

I think "Pirates" will resonate much longer than most of the films on these lists.

For me, the character of Jack Sparrow was one of the 10 best realized performances by an actor in the decade. But the films themselves were a bit sloppy at times with muddy plot and convoluted/tortured twists (even though I really enjoyed them). And I agree, the POTC franchise will continue to resonate, regardless of their shortcomings plot-wise because they are also done so very well. But some of the films that appear in the lists are totally understandable (to include POTC)....we're all basically genre geeks at some level on this website. No?

They may not be all big blockbusters, but these are movies that made an impression on me. I think I'd have a different list for blockbuster-type movies.
