I never wrote my list of favorites. The Simpsons is my favorite tv show, but since it won't die (I'm just kidding; I'll actually be sad when it ends), here's my top 5 completed shows:
1. Breaking Bad- This show might not have the greatest acting (except for Bryan Cranston), cinematography, cast of characters, or action that I've seen on a television series. Like Star Wars, it does a good job of blending genres, and has something that appeals to everyone. Funnily enough, it's the only entertainment outside of Star Wars where the series felt like an event: where everyone was watching it—holding hands and singing like the end of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. In the same way everyone you encounter will give a little smirk (or groan) when hearing "May the Force be with you," Breaking Bad has a very similar effect on our culture with its "I am the one who knocks".
2. The Twilight Zone- The show is very mixed in quality, but there's never been an episode that I didn't like. I'm not a sci-fi fan, but I love this show. I wish there were shows like this today with great morals without being pretentious and cheesy, or forcing the audience to sit through a lot of gratuitous content to get a decent message.
3. Arrested Development- I actually never found the comedy to be very funny in the show, but I thought the writing was great and I liked every single character. It doesn't make me laugh out loud like The Simpsons, Married With Children, and the works of Larry David, but I like having a serialized light-hearted drama with complex characters.
4. Seinfeld
5. Frasier
