This isn't the Harry Potter series though. Pixar is not inclined to 'grow' with their initial fanbase any more than Disney is. They'll throw in the usual references for the older audience, but I wouldn't expect any 40-year Old Virgin out of them.

They don't have to grow and I don't think the humor in the Toy Story films is dumb down for kids or childish. I enjoy those films as an adult even more than I did when I first saw TS 20 years ago. All I'm saying is that when they throw in some of those adult references, they can be about something that's relevant with some of the audience who grew up watching those films , especially if it's related to "toys"/collectibles.

I'm not saying the adult references should be about world events and the war on terrorism or sex, just because it's relevant today. Collectible items and figures is unique to our generation. I'm pretty sure guys in their 30's back in the 60's 70's, 80's, and 90's didn't buy action figures, and there was no such thing as companies making adult collectibles for grown men and women. :)

It'd be fun for the uber-geeks to spot a high-end figure somewhere in the mix, but even in the world of film and comic-related collectibles, $200+ dolls are incredibly niche. It'd be an in-joke that maybe one pair of nerds in every hundredth screening would knowingly nod at. My workplace is full of comic-con nerds, and they're more familiar with Neca and Kotobukiya than Hot Toys. I admit, the thought of a scene with Woody telling DX Joker his socks are the wrong colour and offering to sew up a new set for a hundred bucks would be lolz.

I would be ok with Neca, Kotobukiya, Sh Figuarts...etc. I used HT as an example, but it can be a fictional company...which is more likely anyway. I can't see TS using real collectible companies. I think technology like cellphones/ computers/ tablets might play a role in the next film. I see more kids playing with tablets than with traditional toys, so that could be part of the story.

Wow. The Internet was barely a thing when the first film came out... tablets are now so ubiquitous it's hard to believe they were nowhere just a few years ago :thud:

I saw a pic recently titled 'generation gap' or something like that... showed a dad with his toddler kid. The dad was sitting on the floor rummaging in the toy box, back to back with his toddler who's swiping at a tablet. You might be on to something there :lol

When he's not playing video games, all my nephew does is put his headphones on with his ipad about 8 inches from his face, and watches hours of game play videos on You Tube. And giggles. He's 13.

Toy Story 4 ? DO NOT WANT

They should keep the franchise alive making short TV specials, like this one:

Toy Story of Terror was brilliant, I loved it

I'd rather it just go direct to Blue-Ray so it doesn't build up any hopes.
