It seems Toyrocket is legit. My Terminator Endoskull mini bust arrived fast and very well packed :)

Just got an order recently, they were kinda slow and the package wasn't the greatest. But I liked them, good prices.

Only problem I had with them was when I pre-ordered an item and it was marked as in stock on the website and available to order they didn't ship it and of course it sold out and was on back order. I had to wait till the second shipment came in. I asked what happened but never got a clear answer.

I never got an answer to my questions or emails but at least I got the package fast and fine. They should work a bit on their communication...

I'm thinking of buying from them too but I'm curious about their postage costs first. I'm in Australia and the postage cost can really ruin things. ToyRocket though seems to have reasonable international shipping rates, which they base on your order total ($50.01 - $100.00 = $40 postage; $100.01 - $150.00 = $50 postage; and so on).

Things seems very good on the surface but I can imagine some problems. I emailed ToyRocket about the first query here before but they didn't reply. I thought then that some here might be more helpful. Hopefully you can make sense of the first question here, which might not be clear enough, I'm thinking...

(1) If I order five toys worth $150 I'll be paying $50 in postage. What happens though if for some reason two of these toys - let's say each costing $10 - end up being out of stock and they have to order them in. Will I be charged postage again when they can send those two toys out? Will it be like a whole new order, with postage recalculated based on total cost of the toys they're shipping?

If that's how it works then if those two toys end up coming back in stock at different times I'm going to be charged $20 postage on each, $40 more than the postage cost given at the checkout.

(2) If shipping turns out being more than agreed upon at checkout, do they let you know first and ask you before charging your credit card? Their FAQ seems like it might be saying they let you know the additional cost and charge your card at the same time.

Also, has anyone here ever ordered from them and later been told postage is more than expected?

(3) Are there many experiences with 'in-stock' items on their site turning out to be out-of-stock/backordered when they put an order in?

Ordered from them about 2-3 years ago, they shipped me the wrong thing, but sent me a shipping label to ship back that item and send me the correct one. Their CS is somewhat hard to get ahold of, but that was 2-3 years ago so that may have changed now. I never ordered from them after that and dont plan on doing so in the future.

I ended up ordering some things from from Toyrocket and they arrived just today. Overall I'm happy.

I ordered five items on September 22 (just some Adult Swim and South Park figures and a packet of playing cards, coming to $50). I paid with PayPal and so that took care of any concerns I had about them charging my credit card for additional postage without asking (which is a query I posted about above). Four days after the order was put in they emailed me to say one item was actually out-of-stock and now on backorder and that if I wanted I could choose another item or they could hold the whole order and wait until that item was ready. I chose to wait and then just three days later they had it ready to send and then the day after that the order was sent.

It arrived here in Australia just six days later. It came in a big box full of little foam things... Everything I think was packed fine but some things were a little damaged, but I think that all happened before shipping. The cardboard backing of one item was creased and folded in the corners a little, but that was a South Park figure from 2004 and so I guess they'd had some of these sitting around for a while... If I were keeping them in the box or planning to re-sell them, maybe it would be an issue though. The playing cards also came a little dented on one corner, but that I don't really mind either.

All in all, I'm happy. The international shipping costs were great and there was no extra cost and it all arrived quickly. I'd definitely order from them again. However, if I were after things to keep in the box I'd maybe think twice first...

Two more orders later I'm now certain I'll never order from them again...

The second order went fine enough but one item in my order couldn't be sent, it was out-of-stock and they couldn't get new stock in again. That's fine, a common situation, but the trouble is after a month and repeated emails they haven't refunded this amount.

You can skip on to the details of third order if you just want a quick overview but for those looking for a little bit of extra nonsense with that second order:

They told me at first that I had a store credit to this amount, which I accepted as fine because I knew I'd order with them again. When I did order from them again though, they wouldn't add the credit to this new order even though the charge for this order had not yet gone through when they wrote to me. This seemed odd but I accepted it. I then asked if there was some sort of code or something to put in to add the credit to future orders at checkout. No reply. Then by chance I'm reading the HELP page of their site and see: "We don’t offer an exchange system or "store credit" at ToyRocket.com." Why then they offered me store credit I don't know. After seeing this I then instead begin asking for this amount owing to be returned to my account, first writing on November 13, but almost three weeks later I've still not received a refund nor have they even once replied to this issue. I'm now going through PayPal to get the money returned but I'm not feeling good about my chances with that.

Now to the third and final order, which I put in a few days after the second. I placed the order on November 7 - it was a $200 order of nothing but in-stock items - and it is now December 2 and it has still not shipped. When asked about this they give stock answers like '3 - 5 days' and 'shipping this Friday' but almost a month later it looks no closer to shipping than on the day I put the order in. No stories of items being out-of-stock or anything like that, just a delay of weeks and weeks for no reason they're willing to share. Although I'd still like to receive my order, three days ago I decided I would probably be best to just cut my losses and ask instead for a refund. So far there has been no response to this and so today I put in a chargeback with VISA, which will hopefully pan out.

On top of this, too, just a couple of months ago ToyRocket filed for bankruptcy. At the time I put in my first order people with open orders were being sent letters telling them they'd have sue ToyRocket to get their money back. I don't think this has been mentioned in this topic yet but yes, certainly information that should answer the question of whether or not you want to buy from ToyRocket.

I ordered from them all year long without a problem (say twice a month) but now I'm having the same problem as Grosby's second order. Ordered on the 9th of november and emailed them several times about why is taking so long for my stuff to be shipped. Gave me the generic answer "Your order will be shipped in 3-5 days".

Anyway a couple of days ago I emailed them yet again and they told my order already shipped on the 24 of November. I ask them for a tracking number, they tell me on monday or tuesday they'll email it to me because USPS didnt send them yet (is that true or is it bs? I'm not from the US so I dont know exactly how USPS handles it's tracking numbers).

Aaaaanyway, no news about the tracking number yet, I just emailed them asking them one, if there is no answer as of tomorrow or a bs answer I'm just gonna file a Paypal dispute as I'm running out of days to do it.

Is there any update on your order, Kovach? Did it arrive?

I've still not received any word from ToyRocket. I've heard back from PayPal though, and it looks they wont be any help in getting back the small amount ($16.99) owing from the order made before the sale. They seem to be saying they offer absolutely no protection for any purchases made outside eBay, which seems insane. I'm still talking to them though, so we'll see.

The $200 order I fortunately paid for with a VISA card and they seem very understanding and so I think I'll get the money back there.

You can file a suit for wire fraud with their local district attorney.

I'm in Australia and I don't really want to put time into something like that. I just want the money back as soon as possible and then just to be able to wipe my hands of anything to do with ToyRocket.

They had a sale about a month or so ago and I ordered a ????load of stuff in three orders. All my orders arrived promptly and complete. I received one item damaged and could tell that the damage was there before shipping. Box was smashed. Statue was all chipped up, but the pieces were not in the styrofoam packaging. It looked like the base had been broken and glued back together. Probably a store display or previously returned item. They told me I had to return it at my own expense for a replacement. It was only a $20 item after discount, so I didn't bother.

If I had known they were in financial trouble, I don't think I would have ordered from them. I'm just relieved that the one pricier item arrived in perfect condition. :D

No update here neither from the order arriving nor Toyrocket giving me any kind of responde.
If indeed it's true that they shipped my order on the 24th it should be arriving monday or tuesday, so I'll keep posting here.
Anyway I made a claim to Paypal but seeing you got so little luck with your claim I seriously doubt mine is going to get any better (I sense $170 lost :( )

The problem with my PayPal claim, they say, is that I'm disputing part of a payment and not a full payment. I put in a $170 order with ToyRocket in October (my second order, which was before the sale) and I received the order minus one $16.99 item (which ToyRocket noted as not sent when they shipped the order but for whatever reason just haven't put through the refund). PayPal say they don't cover claims like that, where you receive something for your payment but not everything. If you ordered a TV that came with a remote control and you were sent just a remote and no TV, PayPal would offer absolutely no protection or recourse in that event unless it was was a purchase made on eBay, they seemed to be saying (I talked to them on the phone).

As you'd be disputing a payment made for something you've not even received part of I'd guess you'd fair better but I don't know. This is my first time dealing with PayPal in this way and it's all new to me, it's been very surprising. I think definitely, from this point on, I'm only going to use them when there's no other option. To get just a simple reply from them has been a lot of trouble.

Toyrocket CS sux IMO...:lecture

I'm glad they went under.....

I'm not sure they're going out of business but I hope that's what's happening.

A moderator should move this topic to the Dealers section, it seems to me, also...
