Spiderman 3? Pirates 3? Nope! both great fun movies! Transformers will be Box office King! The new Trailer looks incredible and fun! This is something thats never been done before.Its New! Its Fresh! (remember the 1st Spidey film) Pirates and Spidey already done! This is why it will beat the competition!

I don't know, between Spidy, POTC and Transformer, it'll be a close race. But whoever wins the boxoffice race, I know I'll be happy regardless.

If there is a God, Transformers will reign as box office champs! No offence to Spider-Man and Pirates, they are good and all, but nothing beats robots that turn into vehicles!

In the end, it doesn't really matter. I could careless who's the box office champ. Either way, it doesn't change my life for the better or worse.

I dunno, Pirates and Spidey have a fan base (of movie goers, regardless of pre-film fans) so that's in thier favor as where Transformers has an old school fan base, but how many outside that box will go? No doubt it'll rock the box office but I dunno about owning it. I'm not going, and I paid for S3 and will for POTC. I never got into Transformers, we were poor, I had thier budget brethren Gobots.

I used to watch the original TV show and play with the toys but I have little interest in this movie and don't plan on seeing it in theaters. Maybe on DVD though.

I'm in the 'Old School' fan base, as for how many outside, try every little boy in the world (in actual age and at heart) that loves giant robots!! My nephew is 7 and he is stoked about this movie!

I never got into Transformers, we were poor, I had thier budget brethren Gobots.

I feel for you man, you missed out on a vital part of growing up in the 80's. Gobots were cool in there own right, but they can't hold Optimus Prime's jock strap!!!

i have waited for all the SM movies to come out on dvd before i saw them but will see transformers when it first comes out but i don't think it will make more than POTC or SM...especially if the movie isn't that good...the numbers will go down the following weekends.

I think it has very good potential to smash it if its marketed enough.

everybody who Ive shown the trailer to that couldnt care less about Transformers said it looks like its gonna be sweet and theyre looking forward to seeing it.

Even the wife is excited. And she rolls her eyes at most of my fanboy stuff

I would be stunned if Transformers were to beat out to VERY well established films like SP3 & POTC3.

Dont get me wrong, I would LOVE it to happen, but I cant really see. Maybe gross about $100-$150 million.

Why can't it gross 300 million US wordwide? Or like most Americans, they think the extent of the world is the country they live within.
