Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Look at the new black widow zipper. That seems to be a well fit 1/6 zipper. At the very least I would take off the zipper handle thing and replace it with a small bit of metal. That would do worlds for improving the scaled look of the figure.

I took your advice and got a zipper from "Little Zipper" and took it to a local seamstress and the zipper is being replaced as I type. That same seamstress will also do the alterations on Washes clothes. Thanks for the advice.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Hey all,

No updates on the next characters as I'm busy sculpting some Sideshow stuff, but I hope by summer there will be a new one for you all! :)

If anyone missed out or wants an extra copy of one of the characters I can still make up more. Just let me know,

Thanks folks! Keep up the killer jobs on making up your figures! I love visiting this thread to see what you all are doing,
Trev

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Hey guys, I wanted to give you all aheads up. I found this site a few years ago that has some customs and patterns. Read over her site-don't commission the pattens for sale but ok to use for yourself. She has a River dress for a barbie size figure.
molendrix.com/River

I am going to use the Eowyn pattern.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

guys anyone here heard anything from Chad smcg?

I had a correspondance from her/him mid April but not had any replies to 2 emails sent since then !

I still hold out hope that a reply can be gotten

That said I also like to edge my bets . . and it may work out cheaper doing the work myself

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm hoping he'll make another run. I don't have the skills to make one myself. If he doesn't and you do, please let me know. :)

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

I heard from Chad on the 11th about something I'm waiting on, and I think he's just been super busy with real life stuff.

Not sure I could help you out, doing customs for others doesnt work that well for me, I tend to do a custom for me, keep it and sell it

That said Ive been looking for a decent base coat to start one (had high hopes as theres a Tonner Mal Reynolds coat being released until I realised that Tonner are usually 17 inches tall)

But have considered a jedi robe as a base start

Fingers crossed Chad will get this unimportant life stuff out of the way an make some more coats :panic:

Im in no rush as Im still waiting on the gun and belt and the head paints from Josh

Yeah, what's up with the life stuff? :wink1:

Seriously though, I hope things are going well for him.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

I noticed that battlegeartoys.com offers 3 very different styles of suspenders/braces (the difference being how they cross in back): V-back, X-back, and Y-back. I can't find any pics of Capt. Tightpants himself from the back with no coat on, so what style has everyone else here been using for their Mal(s)?

Thanks!

Yes the type you want is Y-back, but not from Battle Gear Toys. They are out of scale. I had them and I replaced them with DID German Peter Greim suspenders. eBay item #200472214754. You'll like them much better.
