Trev, you are a rock star!! :yess: Your talent is awe-inspiring!! Thanks so much for making our Firefly dreams come true! :clap

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

The Dynamic Duo together at last. Two down, seven to go. You can't beat Trev's sculpts and Josh's paint jobs on the same figure. I am very pleased how these figures turned out!

AHHH man, Old Grandpa....absolutely awesome. That's the dose of inspiration I need to continue with these sculpts! Everyone's beautiful work on these is fantastic fun to witness and very gratifying as a sculptor.
You ROCK!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Those look INCREDIBLE Grandpa! I love them! I want ones just like that someday soon. I'm a HUGE Firefly/Serenity fan! Great work all around from everyone involved. :clap :yess:

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Anybody have a source for where to get some good-lookin' boots for Zoe? I'm at a complete loss, besides maybe some HT Sheva Alomar boots (although they're not black - maybe they're dyeable / paintable?) Any help would be appreciated!!

(In fact, any Zoe recipes in general would be appreciated...)

Oh, and Old Grandpa - terrific work all around - it's good to see a great-looking Mal join your already-fantastic Jayne!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Congrats OG, that is quite the pair! And you're right, you can't beat the combined efforts of Sideshow's best sculptor and prototype painter :exactly: Your bashes are what keep me checking in on this thread :bow

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

OK, this ones for Chad. Thanks for all your help. With out you these figures would not be possible.

Hey LC, I checked the photos in my copies of the Serenity and Firefly Companions and the boots look dark brown to me.

You asked for the recipe for Zoe. I used the HT TT Cuban American body, Chads shirt and vest, Stevo for the carbine and rig, DID German WWll tank crewmans belt with the insignia filed off and then rubbed down with gold Rub-n-Buff, and HT's Sheva Alomar for the gloved hands, boots and pants. The boots are so dark they look almost black. You can darken them a bit with a little black liquid shoe polish. I also dyed the pants brown, but be careful. They use a synthetic material for the thread and it won't take the dye. I later replaced the bullets that came with the rig with carbine bullets from Battle Gear Toys. Hope this will be of some help.

Old Grandpa Your customs :rock thanks for posting those pics. Very nicely done my friend. :yess:

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Simply mindblowing, OG - your Zoe looks stunning just like your Mal and Jayne! And a special kudos / thanks for the Zoe recipe and all of your other help along the way! :clap

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Quick followup for Old Grandpa...

I got both your Jayne and Zoe recipes - (and I'm following the chef's ingredients to a 't') - but did you ever post your Mal recipe? (I very well may have missed it somewhere along this journey....if so, I apologize in advance). If not, would you mind posting your Mal recipe to complete the trinity?

Here you go LC. I think I posted this before, anyway this is it:

Body: HT TT narrow shoulder body
Coat: Chad at SMcG
Shirt: HT Wolverine (it will need to have snaps installed and buttons replaced Got the buttons from Battle Gear Toys. I used gray, but like black better
Pants: Battle gear Toys trousers Butternut Lt. #CW-TR-21-10, With brown stripe up side added (I used brown ribbon glued on with Fabric-Tac. Have some ribbon left over if you need it)
Suspenders: DID German Peter Greim uniform suspenders. If not available try Battle Gear Toys Braces #CW-BR-70-03
Gloves: HT Joker rubbed down with brown acrylic paint
Boots: New Line Miniatures Japanese Offices Boots
Gun and Holster: Stevo's toys

Hope this is what you're looking for and good luck finding this stuff.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Ok, pals, I received my Mal headsculpt today. :yess:
Thanks a lot, Trev! :wink1:

For now, I just finished filing of the tip of the HT neck joint I kept for the head.
I only have to glue together...

Then, I just have to wait to retrieve a TT body, a few clothes, accessories and, especially, to find fabric to make the coat... :wink1:

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Things are coming along nicely for my Mal. The only piece I have yet to have coming is SMcG's duster, and he was nice enough to pop in here and mention he'd be getting back to everyone. I have Commtech in the process of painting up the head (he rocks) and I'm waiting on Steveo to get the rig done. He should be displayable sans coat for awhile. :) I'm excited as this has been a really fun project!

Personally, I think I'll ask again to Seb to paint my Mal's head.
He did a great job on the two House heads. And he lives closer to my home too. :lol

You can't go wrong with seb. He's done some work for me in the past and given me help on many projects. The only problem I've ever had is with the Belgian postal service. They take forever and a day to get a parcel through customs.
