Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Wow Jiminy! Fantastic set...so cool to see how far you've gotten.

If anybody didn't see these in the Nathan Fillion Mal thread, I sculpted boots for Fillion's figure. These will be available to anyone else who wants them too. They will be cast solid, though, so it would take some drilling/dremeling to attach them.

My crew so far

WOW!!! You've done an awesome job on your Firefly crew. Love the Dinos you are using with Wash. That's the same look I'm going for. Where did you find the Dinos? Your Zoe necklace looks great what did you use? I'm using small black yarn. Think I like yours better. Anyway, GREAT job.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Well OG I took many tips from you! Trev's amazing sculpts hold up even with my mediocre painting skills (but painting is half the fun of the hobby, for me, nonetheless). And I'm waiting on a few more pieces from Chad that I was lucky enough to get orders in for last time he made them available.

The dinos are from Michael's Craft store, they come in a tube. Don't know a brand name or anything, they just have an endcap with tubes of various toy animals, one of them is full of dinos.

The Zoe choker is also from Michaels, it's this thin leather cord that you can find among their jewelry-making supplies, I guess people use it to make necklaces or bracelets or whatever.

Can't really see it in this pic but Inara has hoop earrings that are also small gold rings from Michaels.

Thats what I used for my Zoe too! :hi5:

They look really good and you are very right about painting being half the fun.

Count me in for the mal boots trevor. When you are ready to sell just shoot me a pm k.

Jiminydog,

Wow haven't started with mine but yours are gorgeous...wish I could buy Jayne's SMG stuff. Slow connection killed me and I just completed Mal's clothing.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

hey I have a question, probably for old grandpa but anyone who can answer: what are people using for the belt that goes around Zoe's vest? (I've got the vest on the way from chad...)

Wow totally Shiny! I've been following this thread for ages, watching each character come to life. Old Grampa these sculpts are stunning, beyond anything Sideshow & other collectible manufacturers could put together and the paint-jobs & kit-bashed costumes that all you guys on here assemble are works of art.
I really wish I had the spare cash to join the ride. I can't wait to see Book, Simon & River :hi5:
Awesome work

I used a German enlisted belt, filed the emblem off, painted it gold and rubbed it down with Rub 'n Buff 'Antique Gold'. Check out eBay item 160450954821.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Oh wow, Shammy! That is amazing! I'm so thrilled you guys have found dinosaurs that work so well! That's killer...and the outfit looks fantastic. I like your choices. It seems like Wash really lends to great alternative looks.

Mighty Jabba's paints are incredible!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Yeah, I think it came out great. It really captures the character. It all comes back to your awesome sculpts bud, they truly are art. :)

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

On a side note. I really would like to get a more accurate pistol for Mal. Is anyone making one at all? Maybe for the Fillion project? ;)

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Awesome! I love Wash. I think Trevor made him spot on. I don't quite see Inara there. But I heard you have to have it in hand. So I can't wait till mine are done being painted so I can check em out.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Great paint app MJ. You've knocked another out of the park. Can' wait till I see Protozaius's in hand. You truly do nice work.
