Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Everyone's look so good. I can't wait till all of my sculpts are ready to be sent. They will be done once my clothes are too. Luckily I have a wonderfully talented friend. You know who you are!

I used buck bodies, so mine aren't all the heights they should be. But to be honest, it doesn't bother me. I just like the fact that I have their faces and the clothes to match. I still need to get a male buck for Wash. So if anyone knows anyone with one to sell, pm me.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

I picked up all the sculpts from Trevor, and I just painted Wash last night. Wow, what a joy it was to paint! I'm used to having to spend so much time with shading to bring out elements in the sculpt, but Wash was just so good he almost painted himself. I'm looking forward to painting the others up soon!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

My sewing skills have been really sucking lately. Not that they were very good before but nothing is coming out right lately.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Sweetie, your sewing is fabulous. I am looking at my Mal and my Kaylee and the stuff you did for them are amazing. We already know what happened with Jayne, lol. And I used mostly Lara's clothes for Zoe BUTTT I do love the shirt you did for her.

I need to get new boots soon for Zoe because I am actually using those for River once she's ready.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

1. Wow that's nice! Plan on making any more? ;)

2. I need an idea on how to bash a Mal coat! Thoughts?

3. I also need some help with Zoe...I'm getting nowhere on sourcing anything for her. Any help guys?

4. I'm about to order my belts from Steveo's Toys, and I'm using a HT Dastan for Jayne, HT Royce for Mal, and a HT Cuban TT for Zoe. Can anybody help me with the waist sizes? The Mal and Jayne are pretty much Advanced TT sizes.

Thanks everyone!!!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

1. maybe, we will see how school goes. I will keep you informed

2. Chad is your best bet. his Mal coat is great.

3. Zoe is tricky. I made everything but the pants and boots. look for HT sheva boots or Black widows boots(not as good and needs a special peg) and sheva pants or jill valentine pants. both need to be dyed. jills work better for serenity Zoe

4. the easiest way to do it is just measure the waists. he makes the belt longer then the measurement so us measuring wouldn't help much

may I ask why a royce body for Mal? just want a sculpted neck?

If you go this route you should invest in some t-800 long pegs to make jayne taller.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Shirt looks awesome Cadaver. Any chance you could scan the pattern and email it to me?

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

ya I can do that! give me a couple days and I'll send it your way. for the collar, its just white bias tape cut in half. it should be easy to find at a fabric store.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Thanks man! yours will fit a little better in the shoulders and your white collar is ever so slightly higher. mine was just a bit to low but I can live with it.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Hey Cadaver, nice job on the Book shirt and great advice for thecapn. Keep those photos coming. They keep me fired up while I wait for paint apps from Josh.

Ok thanks :) I was able to pick up a pretty good close shirt online, but yours looks awesome!

2. Chad is your best bet. his Mal coat is great.

I thought he stopped making them? Am I getting him confused with someone else?

Hmmm...I found a pair of Jill pants online, but I'm not really sure how to go about dying. I'm assuming a cup, try to keep the pants as straight as possible, in a paint/water solution?

4. the easiest way to do it is just measure the waists. he makes the belt longer then the measurement so us measuring wouldn't help much

Gotcha. Thanks!

Yeah, for the sculpted neck. Black Ops toys had a sale going on Royce breakdowns, and I really wanted that. Plus, since it's looking like it'll be hard to get the jacket, it'll look better with Mal's rolled up sleeves. If it doesn't look good I'll leave him on the regular TT he's on now.

Already got that covered. I picked up a pair of sideshow GI Joe boots for Jayne, because they looked really close, and they have a much longer peg in them. I'll have to drill out the dastan leg just a bit for them to fit, and they'll give him a good 1/4 inch of extra height or so.

Thanks for the response! I really appreciate it!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

I will post some pics of my Mal with his new boots tonight OG. He looks pretty dashing.

Thecapn, I am gonna send you a PM when I am not on my phone. Got some help for ya.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Your Booth shirt looks great Cadaver!

So does anyone else have Trevor's Mal boots? I'm definitely going to pick up a pair once I get caught up on some of last months bill (DAMN YOU CHRISTMAS!!) but I'm curious as to just what mods are needed to get them to fit...

The boots are the weakest part of my bash. :(

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

There are a couple ways you cab put on Mal's boots. I Dremeled all the way down into the ankle which is quite nerve wracking because you're sweating the whole time that you don't go through the side. Just keep in mind the ankles are much thinner than the width of the boot.
The other way you might do is to take the leg off at the knee and use that peg. I didn't like that way because of the hollow area in the pant leg.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

The pants I have are 3/4 length so I probably wouldn't have to go ALL the way to the ankle. I'm more concerned about fitting the pants in to be honest. lol But I'd imagine to maintain a little articulation I'd need to go all the way down anyways for peg right?

I haven't even bought the things yet and I'm having anxiety!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Ya if you want a bit if articulation you are gonna have to go to the ankle. I had problems with my pants, I had to rip out the bottom hem to make it less bulky. It is tricky indeed but well worth it
