Great news, maybe mine have shipped as well, will check it out.
Also got an email from CSC confirming that my Evo and Eva have shipped, so pretty soon I'll have a couple of each!

Mine came today. They are quite different than what I'd expected (which was, essentially, the tight joints of the Alphas with a more realistic sculpt). There is some serious spring action within the torso that makes them floppy in your hand -- the EVO actually clicks its heels every time I pick it up -- that reminds me of Sideshow's first Prometheus figures. The similarity ends, thankfully, when you set them down. They hold a pose very well. Some legs seem to pop off a little too easily (I have two of each figure, thus eight legs to compare), but everything pops right back on without difficulty. With the connectors for the heads, wrists, and feet, it's necessary to attach the plug to the body first, then the extremity.

As far as the pop-in arms and legs, Executive Replicas' AtoModel has an easier system. I really don't see the Triad system as helping get tight-fitting clothing on the figure. Reattaching the leg through clothing will be like threading a needle, trying to align a pin with a hole about 1/16" in diameter. As for the arms, yanking one out might help you get a tight-fitting article of clothing off, but I don't see how you can reattach them once they've been popped without taking off the chest plate and loosening a screw inside. With the AtoModel, the entire shoulder is a big ball joint. (Incidentally, Sideshow recently cancelled all AtoModel and AtoMedia orders -- no telling whether there'll be any way to get one other than by cannibalizing an Executive Replicas or Go Hero figure.)

I also have to say that I can't tell the "medium" EVA chest from the "small." In fact, I'd say I've got two "smalls" and a "medium" with each of my EVAs. I've just squeezed one EVA into a Selene outfit, and only the big chest plate even registers through a catsuit, and this is a very slender character, so I tried what I thought was the smallest plate with the expectation that it would be perfect. When it vanished beneath the suit, I tried the other small plate. That's when I realized that once removed from the package the two smaller chest plates are indistinguishable from one another. I'll be curious to see what others think. The alternate chest plates for both EVO and EVA, which are mainly held by magnets, do also snap at the edges and have as snug a fit as any BBI Perfect Body. The "ripped" male chest plate looks like what Hot Toys was aiming at with their Bruce Lee DX.

EVA is shaped like no other female figure I've seen. The widest point of the lower body is slightly higher than mid-thigh, not at the hips, which gives her a pleasingly true feminine shape.

They're not what all that buildup led us to expect (I sent in my order and paid through PayPal in November of 2008), but that was inevitable. Still a good addition to the possibilities for customizing.

Pictures when I can this weekend.

Just finishing off my review for the Triad; Gunn 4 Hire- Tyrus figure. He turned out pretty damn nice!

I received my first (and last) Triad Alpha female figure today. What a disappointment.

Top complaints...

white stress discolorations on the plastic from assembly
right wrist peg will not fully seat into arm socket
hands are different color than the body
untrimmed mold flash on body parts
no nipples

Things I liked...

under garments are nicely tailored
head sculpt is great

Man, I remember what a stir these bodies caused when they were first shown. Sadly a lot of companies have stepped-up their game since then which makes them seem like less of a must-have.

Still, if the quality is good I'd like to have a few around for customs.

I order one for a custom and after I get the body and recheck the quality is bad and the Triad body end in my nepew hands he's seven years old.:(

I was really pumped for this figure from the moment I saw the proto pics. After seeing some in-hand pics on OSW it seemed to me that something wasn't right - on top of everything else, the deal breaker for me was the bundling up of parts-bin hands rather than the relaxed hands shown in the proto-pics. I cancelled my pre-orders for both Eva and Evo :(

The fact that Triad took 3 years to deliver this underwhelming product is a shame - what was innovative 3 years ago just doesn't have the same impact nowadays, what with the advances other companies have made in the meantime. But that's a good sign for collectors isn't it? Figures just get better and better :)

I have an Eva coming so I will have to see how I feel in hand but to be hoest it has to be better than the HT female Tt. Quality wise I'm hoping but sculpt wise it surpasses it by a mile. The HT tt female is a stubby troll of a body with a giant chest that looks completely stupid on figures like my princess Leia. No ones come close to capturing the female anatomically like this Eva. I can only hope it's not total crap in quality but compares to the last female tt I got which flopped around like a ragdoll it will not be hard to top

That's what initially attracted me to the Eva - it looked like a 'real' woman and not a generic busty heroine type. It makes it that much more disappointing that I can't accept this figure's shortcomings. But I wanted the Eva to display nude - so I'm sure that those who will be dressing the figure should be pretty happy with it.

Their stuff just looks way too "blah" to me. the modular gun looks too "plasticky", and the Eva just looks too different from the pictures shown when they started taking orders. I had expected very matte finish figures, and the production looks like the same old shiny junk. So glad I canceled on them.

As a female collector and someone who waited for the Eva for longer than what I’ve waited for some of my most expensive ball-jointed dolls, I was very disappointed in the quality of the plastics used for the body. I love the aesthetics of the sculpt itself, the hands are beautifully detailed and the body is truly very well done and realistic in terms of sculpt and proportions – seems like with some work it will pose great. However, the quality of the materials and QC does take away a great deal from all the artistic quality of the otherwise well-rendered body. I’ve never purchase anything from Triad before, so I don’t know if this is the way they cast all of their figures, but I definitely didn’t expect to have such low-standards in quality control when it came to a $40 figure, especially comparing the Eva to my two Hot Toys TT females, who are done in a beautiful quality material (and it’s obvious just putting them side-by-side).

OH MY GOD !!!

Finally, got the EVA, almost completely different figure from the one I ordered practically two years ago. Gone is the natural female shape, now it's no different then any other of their female figures. They threw away the figure's originality to make it a franken-figure that you can swap body parts with.

As for my figure, the leg fell off then I picked it up from the package, and want stay on. Her back is in a constant arch and snaps back no matter how many times you straighten her up; hands and head are different shades (skin tone) from the body as well. Plastic looks and feels cheap.

I'm just glad I finally have something to show for my money.

Hearing how bad these figures are should make me feel happy I canceled my preorder on a few of these. And I do feel relieved - but what I really wanted was a figure halfway like the figure that was shown in the proto pics. What a bomb. What an epic fail. How disappointing.

lejuan dude you're starting to sound like a broken record. for someone who doesnt have any triad figures you sure seem to hate on them and continually hark on a product(s) you dont care to buy. whatever. to each his own man

i have a ton of figures from triad and they nice so just posting from my experience. i got a few of them and out of the 6 evos i have, only one had a slightly loose hip, which is easily fixed by widening the joint. the females dont have any problems. the torso is super tight but i prefer this over it being too loose

heres some shots i posted on the triad forum. the articulation is pretty nuts. the coolest part i think is their ability to change out limbs with their other figures

Yeh, fair enough. Sorry dude, I was just so looking forward to this figure. The proto Eva was unlike anything else out there... had my preorder lined up, delay after delay... then it was finally released and my bubble burst. I just have a hard time accepting how different the final result could be from the proto after three years. Peace out :peace

Yeah, this has been my experience as well. I can't get the legs to stay on (every time I put on pants the legs pop off and I have to start again), and I can't get the torso to stay straight.

Let's see some pics! And does anyone here have the Evo's in hand?

Yep!! I have Evas and Evos. Love them both and don't understand the hate brigade...

Sure, they aren't as perfect as they should have been but they are still great figs.
Eva is very well articulated and I have TTF to compare them and in all honesty, I prefer Eva.

I also encountered the "popping off left leg problem" and here's how I've fixed it:

remove the leg. there is a slit at the end of the peg. Heat up the peg with a hairdryer and put the tip of a screwdriver in the slit to widen it. put immediately under cold water to freeze it. pop the leg back on, problem solved!! :D

Evo on the other end leaves me with mixed feelings. I love it, the sculpt sends all the generic figs back to the stone age, the articulations are great, but....

Mine had loose shoulder hinges and loose hip articulation. Nothing that a drop of Super Glue couldn't solve, but that's really too bad because otherwise, they would have been the best generic figs around!

All in all, in spite of a few faults, I don't regret buying them and just a reflection. I'm French. We're a small country and there's no way a company like triad or Sideshow could be profitable enough to be created in my country.

You guys are lucky to have people who try to do things like Louie or Eric. I really think that entreprenural people should have more support. Sure they try, and sometimes they fail, and sometimes they don't live up to the expectation, but at least, they try, when we just criticize...

just my two cent here...

EDIt:

just found this post by Arianne on the MWD board to fix floppy EVA/EVO limbs! I have to try this! :D
