So has anyone anywhere got an EVO or EVA in hand?

I just checked their site and no Fuu mentioned in the shipping estimates.

Edit: So I asked Triad and Fuu is still happening but changes to the Toy Fair prototype are being approved (and to their credit they answered right away).

When I see this thread bumped nowadays I am so cynical about Triad that my first thought isn't even that someone is announcing that they've been released but that someone is again asking when they're going to be released.

These figures are probably just an urban legend. Our grandkids will be sitting on our knees telling us about how their preordered Evo and Eva's will be arriving any day now.

I also come to read the Triad apologists get all huffy at criticism.

It appears they have finally arrived - Eva at least - and I have to say judging from the photographs at least, I am underwhelmed.

Plastic looks cheap.

Tolerance on the chest plate looks poor.

Proportions do not look as well resolved as the figure presented in the proto pics.

I'm reserving final judgment until it's in hand of course, but my initial impression is... three years for THIS??

They look ok. Agree, they don't look worth $40. About on par with the TTL pricing maybe.

Nothing earth shattering like people were predicting what 4 years ago?

Interesting choice of headsculpt, that's actually not a bad Natalie Portman likeness.

I will say that the EVA at least looks like a realistic woman in the proportions. It would have impressed me 3 years ago.

The HT Sarah Connor body with joint-free arms already showed off the first all-around decent female body ever released by any toy company. Every other one tends to run from Barbie unrealistic to fanboy unrealistic.

And did people see the note: Fuu is still being made and is just in the approval stage.

This figure looks barely like the figure I pre-ordered (and paid for) practicial two years ago. To be honest it's doesn't look worth the wait. And why so many cracks?

You mean the horrendous parting line from the chest to the neck? My guess is that they either didn't spend enough time sorting out the tolerancing between the chest plate and the figure body, or the plastic used made getting a decent tolerance impossible. Either way it's unacceptable for a figure at this price point - why not just offer three different busted versions of the one figure instead of trying to be clever about it with the snap-on/snap-off system?

And what is going on with the relaxed hands??! Rather than truly relaxed - as shown in the proto pics - they look tense, like she's ready to launch a fireball at someone. Is it just me? Those hands are totally different aren't they?

I don't know whether to cancel my preorder or not. Hopefully there'll be a few reviews in before BBTS get their shipment.

I definitely consider this body a pass now. It's not better than anything available right now. The Alphas are good enough for my needs (though the waist and arms still look a little thin)

The photography is much better than previous images and shows the figure in a pretty good light I think - much more what the figure would be like in hand. Thanks, Kinster, for the pics and write up.

I have a stack of issues still with this figure:

* I understand why the knees were changed, but: FAIL
* a neck this long with legs this short: FAIL
* tolerancing on the chest plate: FAIL
* glossy plastic rather than matte: FAIL
* tense hands with no relaxed hands included: FAIL

...there are some positives, but with so much wrong with it, who cares?

I'm ticked off at waiting this long for a figure only to have it fall well short of what was presented in the proto pics.

Triad sent me an email asking for payment even though I already paid them back when I ordered the figure (EVA Body) close to two years ago.
I saved all my emails and invoices (pay-pal) and can proof it. I sent them an email telling them so and haven't gotten a thing back from them. So either they're trying to figure out where my payment went or ******* ****** ** ****** * *** ** ***** **. Either way after I get this figure from them (Which I'm not going to pay them twice for) I will be done with doing business with these people. They're the most *************** business/company I've ever did business with.
