Just got Triads newsletter last night. The long awaited
Champloo figures are in and shipping. Here's the official launch
notes and pictures. I know a lot of you were waiting on these,
so here it is. Watchout Medicom..Triad's doing Anime the right way for less!!!

Can't wait to get my hands on some. :woohoo

CHAMPLOOS ARE HERE!
It has been a long and arduous road for us to bring the Jin and Mugen Samurai Champloo figures to you. Being really die-hard fans of the series and creator Shinichiro Watanabe, we made every effort to try and get the production figures exactly the way we had prototyped and envisioned them - a task that proved extensively long (over 2 years) and mechanically difficult. With moving eyes, full metal weapons and a brand new Otaku 2.0 super articulated body, Jin and Mugen can finally cause some samurai mayhem. We are very happy with the end result and hope you enjoy them as much as we did. We do apologize for the long wait, but it's finally over and the wait is well worth it. Now on to Fuu!!

nice................yes i want to see some in hand pics & hear feedback on these...........:chew

Cool, can't wait.

I hope Fuu isn't to far behind. Probably a fair wait though, which is cool if she comes out looking as good as the lads.

These are looking good. It's great to see they are finally available. I have high hopes for other releases, since I thought there would be another extended wait on these figures again.

Some insight, because not everyone understands how
long this process can take.

It's interesting to get Triad's view about the process of getting
these to market. Basically the long waits have nothing
to really do with their end. They make the proto-type, they wait months for the people behind the license to approve it.
Then months after they get it back with requested changes. Then make the changes,
then wait another few months, get it back again with more change requests, it goes back and forth until both parties can finally
agree and then final approval is given for factory run. Then demo factory run is checked, any issues or dislikes about factory run,
then have to be corrected, checked again and final approval is given once again for real factory run.

The entire process can take an average of 18 months, just to get a licensed figure made. A gruling process no doubt.

And yes, Triad did post Fuu is being made, but the process started over again with Fuu.
So don't expect it until this time next year or beyond and remember, for the most part Triad's hands are tied. :D

.......does this mean I have to wait another 2 years to see fuu?

I dont know...I cancelled them a long time ago, not sure if I'm gonna order them again, I need to see more out of the box shots!

The guy on toysdaily said the joints are not very tight.....which isn't a veyr good news.

That's odd for Triad. Usually their joints are super tight (tighter than most other companies).

* I'd say it's a good bet that it won't be out until Nov-Dec 2010.
On their forum, they're talking about it like it's been in the works
for a little while now. So I'd think some of that 18 months has
already past.

This is a brand new body that Triad kept under wraps. They
did show 1 picture of the proto-type a long time ago on the forum.
My thoughts are, sense it's been in the making for so long, they've
most likely worked all the kinks out. I don't recall if it was modular
like the alpha. It maybe just that, so that could mean that a leg or arm joint just isn't pushed in all the way.

I gotten Hot Toys bodies like that out of the box. Had to work the leg
joint in and then it was fine. But who knows for sure. I'm sure as soon as someone gets one in there hands,
there will be plenty of pictures and reviews. Maybe even Michael Crawford will do one..:joy

While I am sure licensors can cause some delays, it sounds like Triad does not what to take responsibility for its own decisions, which does not bode well for their handling of future licences.

After all how does anything you wrote explain their ridiculous delays in getting their own figure bodies to market? This year alone we have been promised three different release dates on the EVO/EVA bodies. Still nothing but empty promises.

The body delays is a whole other story, but here's the reader digest version.

Body made, body design stolen by other company, body redesigned
, factory closures (almost 1/2 in china). The list goes on. Yeah, it
sounds like alot of bad luck and it obvious that you are unhappy with Triad.
That's why I made the other thread with the link that you posted in, to ask the owners and artist of Triad yes or no questions directly.

(in other post) Maybe questions about what your concerns were with the other figures (lone wolf & cub)
you've been waiting on and about not being able to see pictures of the proto-types.

How many 1/6 companies let you ask the owners direct questions?
My guess is almost none.

You obviously feel strongly about it, so why not ask them?

Maybe you'll get the answers you're looking for. :banghead

I'm interested in Mugen and Jin, but the set would be incomplete without Fuu.

Since these were delayed so long, I think I'll wait and see if Fuu actually comes out.

Has anyone here gotten these? Can't find any in-hand pics of these figures other than those on the first page.

I spoke to Drew at Triad Toys last night and he says he say's the pre-orders are shipping out today, so hopefully there will be some in hand pics by next week.

I'll post mine when I get them if no one else has, but as I'm in the UK I'm guessing others will get them before me.

They look pretty darn good to me, love the fact the blades are all metal, and the head sculpts look fantastic. Plus I really want to check out the moving eye feature.
