So I just started watching this series based ont hese figures, although I had enjoyed Cowboy Beebop several years ago. I really like fiction set in the early Edo period, especially Usagi Yojimbo, so it is no surprise I find the show a lot of fun. Fuu is a much more authentic feeling female character than Faye ever was too.

I think I will order Jin now and buy Mugen once they actually release Fuu (2013? :D). Mugen is a bit weird outside of the trio context, but Jin is just a cool stylised samurai if the trio never becomes a reality for whatever reason.

I found this out this morning from my sister,
just sad sad news for Champloo fans and Hip-hop fans alike. :(

From Techfused.com:

Rumors that Japanese hip-hop and modern soul producer Nujabes had died are now sadly confirmed by his record label Hydeout Productions and his colleague and friend Shing02. Nujabes, whose real name is Jun Seba, is dead after a car accident in late February. According to Shing02:

“Through his soulful music, Nujabes has touched so many people around the world, even beyond his dreams. He was a mysterious character to most as he avoided the public limelight, rarely conducted interviews, so only a few got to know the man behind the signature production. Yet it continued to amaze me how young listeners of all backgrounds learned of his enigmatic name, and expressed support for his music.“

I’m unclear on why this is only being confirmed today, when Nujabes’ death was on February 26th, and his funeral has already passed.

As a producer, Nujabes’ career was all about collaboration. He worked with several underground hip-hop artists from Japan, the US, and other parts of the world, including Shing02, CYNE, Five Deez, and Uyama Hiroto.

Nujabes was 36 years old.

He passed away a month, but they only announced it today. I guess it was in respect to his family.

R.I.P Nujabes

That's unfortunate. I'm only familiar with his work for Samurai Champloo, but I really liked that.

RIP, Seba-San.

Bumping this thread back up, I got both today. I like them very much overall. This is my first experience with Triad's Otaku body, and I gotta say it's a bit underwhelming. The body is decently designed, but the joints aren't tight like on a True-Type. Also, the shoulders can't be pulled inward or flexed back, so no shrugging or any action poses that require that sort of movement. Still, very nice figures overall.

For those who have them, or just Jin, did you just stuff his sword scabbards under his belt? There are loops on the scabbards to fit them properly, but untying the belt and putting it back together looks like a pain.

btw that's a cool set-up, Barryo.
