I tried the guitar stand like the one above but didn't like the legs of the stand sticking out so far. I instead went with a large Kaiser doll stand. I had to modify it slightly by bending out the metal waist support and shoving a black pen cap into the tube to keep the waist support at the max height without sliding down from the weight of the Gremlin. I did end up using the foam tubing from the guitar stand to cushion the waist support on the Kaiser stand though (the pic below was taken before I added the foam cushion tubing to the waist support).

Not bad, I guess it depends where you're going to stand him and what room you have. Mine are ok for now, but that may change when I move....
 
Looks good, you can cut the neck retainer off, you won't need it. I think it's only rubber. You want the neck rest to be just under his head.
