I've been a fan of Tron since I first saw it in 1982. Can't wait to see the new Tron film in IMAX. Also, looking forward to see what Hot Toys will do with this license.

If you're going to see it in 3D I would avoid IMAX, the 3D in IMAX isn't very good. The best is RealD at the regular theater, so only go to IMAX if it's 2D.

I was watching the expendables right now and I saw the trailer for this I think it looks amazing. I've never seen the first one, but I'm excited about this one. Should I watch the first one?

Yes, if only to familiarize yourself with returning characters and their offspring. It looks pretty dated by today's standards though.

Yeah, the computer effects aren't that great, but it's watchable, not like some other old movies that were good when they came out but now just look so bad they can't be watched.

just saw it.. whoa... can't believe it took me 19 years to experince genius. I really liked it, enjoyed the characters alot.. The graphics are bareable. A young jeff bridges is my new hero.. he reminded me of a young harrison ford.. anybody else feel this way?

Glad you saw the original to appreciate the story and the concept of the programs and users.
Jeff bridges is an underated actor and has done some quality films and is very choosy on his roles, dunno about the harrison ford comparison, but both good actors.

So looking forward to this sequel it, will be good for sure, as it has taken so long in the coming and could have been done much earlier, but the right story, cgi and other elements were not in place.
This is a film that they did not want to do badly just for a quick buck and has been done with respect to the original and has many of the original crew, involved including steven lisberger, who was ahead of his time in creating tron in the first place.

It is a wonder that tron was ever made.
If you watch the extras on the dvd the whole process of filming to start was painstalkingly dificult.
They had to paint on each frame of film to add the effects of the glow.

And even before that pitching the idea to disney, that were primarily invloved in cartoon based film was tough and is a wonder that they went with it.
I am a big geek when it comes to tron and if it were not for it, my life would be very different.
I know that sounds sad and very geeky but the only reason I got a pc was to play tron 2.0 and since then my life has changed for the better.
I stopped smoking weed and got a life.

Thanks tron;)

I'm really looking forward to legacy... I have a question though, so flynn is the only person that knows about the tron word? he doesn't tell alan and lora correct?

Guess so as by the trailers, alan says flynn just disappeared.

If he had of told them about his trip into the digital world you think they could have worked out he had taken another trip.

:lol

At the end of the first film Flynn says "greetings Programs" to Lara and Alan. So he definately hints at his experience, but yeah I bet he wouldn't really make it public. I think Lara and Alan just think Flynn's very eccentric (and creative) and would probably have a laugh if he told them about it, but I doubt they'd put him in a sanitarium.

I'm so excited for this movie!! My mom and I love the original, my wife however doesn't really like it, and will usually leave the room when I put it in. She's not really a geek, and doesn't understand all of the technical references. I know my mom and I will be there to see it, I'm not sure about my wife.

Sweet new poster!!! :rock!!

I saw the 3D trailer to this and I thought it looked pretty good.
It seems from the trailer the real world is in 2D and becomes 3D when we go inside the Tron world. I can see why they might want to do this, but I think it would have been better to just have made the whole film 3D, because it takes a while for my eyes to adjust.

Believe it or not guys, I've yet to see the original Tron.

The hype is starting to get to me. Looks like I need to see the original classic.
