I bought the original on DVD after I saw the trailer for this one. It's a fun film with some funky special effects, but IMO it's a great watch! I'm glad I decided to pick up the DVD!

Nah. I say watch it now, and get the Blu. This way you can really appreciate the way technology has advanced since then. I have the special edition DVD and it looks great, but I'm waiting to have my eyes blown away from the awesome when I get the Blu.

I have a few copies of tron on vhs in varying degrees of condtion.
The comparison from vhs to dvd blew me away so the blu ray should make my eyes bleed, but then again I hav'nt got a blu ray player or hd tv so no point really
Still a great film whatever format you watch it on, mkaes me think did it ever come out on beta max?
Apparently it did just another obsolete excuse of a format

blu ray i don't think will look too great. the film is sorta natually grainy. it might look too much on blu ray.

I'm a movie score guy, and I'm always interested when musicians do scores for movies.
I think this score will be totally rockin. Even though i'm not a big techno fan. I dont mind it, I just dont listen to anything but scores.

It's been out of print for a few years now... you best bet is Netflix, or buying it on Ebay.... I suggest you rent it and wait for the BD that comes out later this year.
It is going to be amazing!!
!BTW, I don't think Daft Punk can be categorized as Techno...
they have some elements in some songs, but their stuff is mostly Electronic Music.
