Well as long as she's not so annoying and whiny.....but from what I remember of the third book...I have a feeling she will be just as annoying this season as last.

As I recall, Tara wasn't anything but a very minor background character til at least the 4th or even 5th book...I don't recall any major action with her in book 3. But then, it always seemed to me that she was a product of the show - when the show came out suddenly she showed up more in the books.
