So far my problem is that there is not one story going on. There are 10. Instead of a coherant hour long tv show every week, I feel like I am cutting between a bunch of different 5 minute tv shows.

Ya this season doesnt seem to be going anywhere

:lecture

Sadly, I'm losing interest in True Blood. Nothing and so much going on at the same time.

Its become such a teeny bopper melodrama, based almost exclusively on how can we get x character naked and then create a love triangle with the person they were ____ing last week.

Nothing of the original season's political/religious arcs or how public deals with these things remain. Everyone just goes out and roams around the swamps at night to have sex with heavily armed shape shifting strangers when they aren't being kidnapped.

I think at this point people are walking around half-naked for no reason other than to show off how in shape they all are.

Does anyone really care of Alcide and Debby really can stay away from warewolf packs and overcome the trust issues dampening thier relationship? Why are these two characters still on the show?

I will admit the Alcide/Debby storyline has been rather dull - but if they are going to stick with some of the plots of the books - he does have more of a role down the line, as does she....and according to the books,
the wolf pack plays a big part in helping take down the witches....which they may not have done if it weren't for Alcide and his friendship with Sookie.

I would rather have them than Tara. She needs to die.

I agree - Tara annoys the hell out of me....all she does is whine and complain and play the victim. How many times has she said she was going to stand up for herself? That story is played out and she needs to move back to New Orleans and leave Bon Temps for good.

Yea, Tara has been pretty annoying for awhile now. All she does is just get caught in the middle of other people's storylines.

Same with Sam. I liked him the first two seasons where he more or less was the one that saved everyone in the end, but is there really any point to him on the show anymore? It seems like a seperate show when he is on.

I must say between the end of the last season and this season so far, Pam has become my favorite on the show. I love her snarly attitude. I miss mean Eric too, I think that is another reason the show is getting kinda dull. Jason always provided some comedic relief and it seemed like they had him tied to a bed for half a season. The show seemed to pick up a bit toward the end, the chick playing Marnie is doing a good job.

My wife and I came to the conclusion that:

Jessica - Eye candy for the males

Alcide - Eye candy for the females

Neither will be killed off because of it (at least not right away)

I have a strong feeling that Hoyt is going to die. And when it happens, I think it will render the entire show pointless. I think it is an economical storywise, Hoyt giving up his life to save another, because he is a selfless person, freeing Jessica for other storylines, because her romance with Hoyt has been written into a narrative corner,

Thats the problem. Why does it have to be a narrative corner? If an entire storyline over the course of two years builds to two characters starting a romantic relationship together, why must it be immediatly done away with just to have the characters restart it again.

I just don't understand why tv writers cannot bring a couple together and then keep them together. Most times when there finally is a payoff in a "shipper" couple, the storyline immediatly transitions into showing the cracks in their relationship, drawing tension from how long the timebomb of a relationship will last before it blows up.

I dont get it. There are an abundance of will they/won't they romances on tv where we wait for years for couples to get together, and also many happily married tv couples whose relationship is so solid that its integrity is never questioned.

Why are tv writers completly unable to bridge one into the other?

The only show on tv I can think of that manged to do this is "The Office" and it had to compensate by pushing two pairs of unlikeable cartoons (each containing characters that were previously antagonists) to the forefront, with none of the bittersweet realism or relateability that made the first romance plotline so compelling.

:lecture :lol She's gotten past the point of annoying and now pulling this ____ with the witches. Its time for her to meet the true death. :lol

I really like this season because there is so much going on. There is a story line for everyone I think.
