Marty is so good at pulling tail that he can take 2 bags of tampons and maxipads into a bar with him instead of dropping them at the car first and still drag something out

It sure seems odd that he runs into that girl...or that girl runs into him. Rust must have had to knock the rust off as he sure didn't last long when bending over Marty's wife.

That whole scene along with the one at the beginning of the episode with Marty and Beth really punctuated the whole theme of crossing the line in last night's episode. All the rules were broken last night and all of it stems from Marty's infidelity and own shortcomings. It finally destroys his family and it infects Rust as well. It was pure chaos and madness.

hahaha, I thought that too as I watched. Who needs to get the girl drunk or buy pheromone colongne when you have a box of tampons on your barstool. To me it seemed like a setup at the time, being that she was from the past and that maybe she was someone's daughter who was connected with the overall plot. But I guess she was just easy once she saw the tampons.

That scene was just weird. Seems like it was just Marty's wife using Russ, hence his reaction, but at least they could have enjoyed it past a minute.

That's the whole theme of the show...no black and white...all gray areas and anti-heroes.

A few spoiler images...Beware.

Having heard good things about this show and its star power of McConaughey and Harrelson I decided to give it a watch. Yeah its OK I thought. Got to the second episode and saw this specimen:

Well......

I guess I'm the lowest common denominator. ''Will there be t!tt!es?'' :lol I know they're quite commonplace on TV these days and I normally wouldn't bother to comment but damn. Also I see much the of the earliest pages of this thread consisted of people doing the same so...:D

I think it stops after that. :lol

Does it? Ah well. I'll keep going anyway. They can never take those few moments of television away from us so I'll be content with that. And maybe this mystery will start to interest me. So far I'm only interested by the actors but its early days yet, I didn't get around to watching episode 3 because I had to immediately google Alexandra.

She's definitely a good reason to stop what you're doing.

From what I'm getting; understanding; this show is pretty cool so far. But I need to watch with subtitles. I can't understand what Cohle and Hart are saying.

This show is awesome. I hope the next seasons writing and actors will be able to maintain the level that season has set. McConaughey and Harrelson :clap

Latest rumor has it that next season will feature 2 female detective leads.

Anyone ever seen the movie The Believers? I was watching it early with a friend and we both got a bit of a TD vibe.

"The film opens to the death scene of Lisa Jamison (Janet-Laine Green). She is electrocuted when she touches a malfunctioning coffeemaker while standing barefoot in a pool of spilled milk. [2] Following the accidental death of his wife by electrocution in Minneapolis, psychologist Cal Jamison (Martin Sheen) moves to New York City with his son Chris (Harley Cross). He finds employment as as a police psychologist for the New York City Police Department. One of his patients is officer Tom Lopez, who worked undercover in infiltrating a cult and now lives in fear of the cultists. [1]

The City soon experiences a series of brutal, ritualistic child murders, supposedly committed by members of a Hispanic cult practicing a malevolent version of brujería. The paranoid ramblings of Lopez start seeming relevant to the case. The film soon starts hinting at a conspiracy involving affluent New Yorkers, such as businessman Robert Calder. Things take a turn for the worse when the cult targets Chris Jamison."

I wonder if it had any influence on the writing of this.

^that sounds like a repeat of this season basically. Love to see Bryan Cranston signed up for a detective on a future season.
