I agree. The body and pose on this are really nice, probably could not be done any better. But JN had/has a beautiful and I think unique face. I wish it had been captured better. I also agree on a HT figure. No way it could duplicate the body on this. The face, probably would be more accurate. No guarantees though. I'm close to pulling the trigger on this. Thanks for your input.

No problem...no right answer and hard to make a decision when we haven't seen the HT....sculpted hair on this though and it's pure art of course ;)

yeh i have seen the paint apps on the herman, then this will be sweet...captured JN perfectly, friend just ordered the emerald edition...should be nice.

Batman has taken a toll on me in recent years, its hard for me to like him anymore what with Christian "the voice" Bale and his inner pseudo self-righteous need to let the bad guys live to kill more of his friends nonsense... My fondest memories of Batman is now the animated series and the original 60's show. I never really had an interest in collecting them but this statue has me really really tempted- It just oozes style.

I ordered the Emerald exclusive from tweeterhead. This will go great with my hot toys dynamic duo and soon to come Batmobile. Plus I'd want Julie's signature on this before she's gone.

The 1960s show was lightning in a bottle that will never be recaptured in our lifetimes. It was so zany, so out-there, so sweet and goofy. And yet if you were a little kid, it was deadly serious too. Attempts to replicate that now mean we end up with... Schumacher. It simply cant be duplicated. There is a reason that this show is a cultural ICON. Very few shows besides Star Trek TOS made the cultural impact that the original Batman did.

I would buy a HT Pfeiffer Catwoman, but I would not cancel this version here even for a HT Newmar CW. in fact I am hoping Tweeterhead gets the rights to Pfeiffer CW too. I'd buy that.

I'm not a huge batman fan. I'm into old Bats and The Joker is probably my fave comic villain but have steered clear as I'd spend a fortune on Batman related merch. I have ordered the HT Batman and Robin and can't wait for them to show up in the UK as I grew up like many watching and loving the show. As mentioned above, the 60's show was lightning in a bottle and no show produced today could get away with the kitsch/camp zany feel or afford the quality of guest appearances.

I'd have been happy with a B&R but would have been interested in seeing a HT Joker or Catwoman but this is drawing me in. I think this is just beautiful and it would sit lovely in a detolf with Batman and Robin. The pose, the body sculpt, the detail on the outfit and the gold cat base etc are just sublime. I agree that a generic hot toys female body would never match the quality of this almost perfect representation.

I want the emerald version so bad but $100 postage + import fees and VAT to the UK is crazy. This would be a $500 import. FP in the UK are doing the reg inc shipping for £199.99 so I'd be paying £100 more for the cert and exclusivity.

I need to think about this...

I agree and collectiblesdirect will probably do it cheaper than FP as well! BUT if the ES of this exclusive is actually low I can see this statue making that money back. Also I have noted that even though I pay more buying direct from companies like Sideshow here in the UK I tend to get the pieces 6 months earlier (perhaps more in certain cases) and it's cheaper than the grey eBay importers still who mark up due to the lack of exclusive availability. swings and roundabouts I suppose

Just want to see what you guys would do in this situation. There's a place selling the regular edition for $212.50. Now there's another place that would match that price and they give 5% rewards. Now would you get the regular at a much cheaper price and rewards, or get the exclusive for like $60 more and no rewards. Would a green stone and a signed card, maybe a small number made be worth it? If only the item itself was signed.

You stated it about right. IF the number of signed ones is really low, say no more that a couple hundred, preferably less, that's probably the one to go with. However, last time I checked Tweeterhead says the number of signed ones is TBD. So it's currently unknown how many could be produced. There may be some risk in pre-ordering one. I also have a chance to get a regular version for a good price so I'm also considering what to do. Making decisions on an unknown is bit unnerving. It's a nice looking piece. So I suppose either way, you can't really lose.

But can't imagine Julie agreeing to say more than 200 signatures. Perhaps I am wrong but this TBD is limited by what they are prepared to pay for her time and how many she wants to sign.

No idea how she is being compensated. Per unit signed? One set amount? f she had pre-agreed to sign only a certain number, I think they would have probably made it known already. I think they want to see what the demand is before they commit to what the "limited number" will be. If she's being paid per unit signed she may be willing to sign as many as they put in front of her. It's not like she's signing them at some table at a convention. I'm sure she'll be in a quiet room with music playing in the background (Batman theme) in a nice comfy chair doing her signing. She could sign a couple hundred in one day without breaking a sweat. I don't think a few hundred is implausible at all.

But can't imagine her staying a day signing cards unless it's GOOD money. They may not be able to justify the profit margin for it. Anyway all pure speculation. Time will tell.

I must confess I'm a bit bummed out the Ex hasn't sold out yet. They more or less made it sound as if pre-orders were only going to be open the first day, or for not much longer anyway. At least that's the impression I got, even more when they said on their Facebook page or the other forum the very first day that sales were surprisingly well. And yet, almost a week has gone by and it's still available.

I'm afraid they will milk it for all it's worth, thus making the ES not so low. Not that I'm thinking of selling it at all, but... you know, that's always nice.

I can't see why she couldn't do it at her home and just mail them in. Hence my vision of her sitting quietly, comfortably, and un-rushed. But like you say, who knows for sure. One thing we can be sure of, money will have a role in it.

I agree. The way I looked at it is that by selling directly to the retail customers, Tweeterhead is already making a much higher margin than they would be if they only sold them at wholesale to resellers. The green gem isn't really a cost concern, in my opinion, so the extra $25 per signature for the EX could definitely be going to Julie Newmar. I don't know how much she'd charge at a convention but it would likely be higher than that. Since she is doing the signing behind the scenes, I can't see her objecting to however many they want to throw at her.

Depending on how this turns out, meaning ES, will determine if I pick up any others in the series and whether or not I'll buy directly from Tweeterhead in the future. I am not going to sell mine, ever, but I did really want a decently low ES. Hopefully it is under 300.

I'm concerned it's still up also. Hot Toys figures sell out in a day or 2 for limited releases. Sometimes even the regular ones can sell out within a week.
