The 360 turnaround makes this one look better, but I'm still not a fan. It looks too animated and the face looks too squatty and thick. It's very possible that the Sideshow version is a more accurate representation of the actor, but I think the Weta versions are better representations of the onscreen character.

Well, i think that Weta got more advantage since they got pics of all the character in 180°, i got one pic of a nazgul that weta took so i think the weta bust is more accurate, but who knows :

Expect the picture you've shown isn't the WK, at least according to the crown he's wearing.

Woodsy, Dwim knows that. That's why he said "a nazgul" and is showing the card that states he was an Easterling and not the Wiki...

He's also trying to point out that the actors who played these parts were not heavy people and that WETA made them look wispy and ghostlike for the film.

I finally found a picture of Pruneface from Dick Tracy.

Oops...I stand corrected.

True, but because these characters were only ever seen with the aid of CGI, including visual distortion they don't always appear thin or wispy because their bodies seem to be in a constant state of flux.

You might be onto something there! :D

I have to agree with you 100% Woodsy I think the LS Bust does look like the witch king from the movie if anything I think the SSW bust looks like one of the 9 with the Wiki Crown on top!! Even when we see the 9 in human form at the beginning of the trilogy the guy in front who I assume is the King of the 9 wasn't exactly a Kate Moss lookalike if I'm correct, he had some meat on him I'm sure of it, can't find a picture but someone may post it. Anyway I love it!:D

No doubt about it! This is the nazgul Weta used on their bust.....

Looks like if anyone screwed up here it was Weta with their original bust, not SS. Not that it's going to make any difference. Most people it seems love the "cool" Weta version and hate the "uncool" SS version. Personally speaking, I couldn't give a rat's a$$ about "cool", I much prefer an accurate movie portrayal!

Not to mention how huge he looked as the ML. That guy was absolutely massive!

Yep I go along with you there, I think this is possibly (next to Gandalf and ML LSB) the next best LSB so far! :D

Personally speaking I couldnt give a 'rat's a$$' about whether its 'cool' or 'movie accurate'.
If i like it I buy it, If I don't I won't.
Simple as. So this is still a pass for me.
x:cool:

To date there have been several deviations made by Sideshow on their LOTR reincarnations. This version of the Wiki is just one of them. GTW PF is another one, and so is Frodo PF. I can say that by doing this, it makes it easier for me whether to buy the product. So far, all 3 have been easy passes. Even after having received the GTG LS bust, I'm still not sure if I made the right decision, because he looks to have a lot of makeup on him (paint app lousy???).

No matter how one tries to justify that this is movie accurate, ultimately, it's what the bulk of people's opinions are as to whether this is a passable representation. The consensus is that it's not.

I'm afraid I'm really going to have to disagree here. Deciding what is "passable" is by no means a consensus decision on the part of customers. It is an individual one. Just because it isn't passable for you doesn't mean it can't be passable for someone else.

You beat me to it Robodad, well said thanks!! :D

I don't think those few of us [and I do mean few] who like this bust are trying to justify anything. The "general consensus" and over-riding theme of this thread from the beginning has been this is not the WK, and it seems that most of the people slamming this bust have used this as part of their argument for not liking it. Clearly however, the evidence points to the fact that SS's version is the more accurate representation of the WK, and that is the only point I am trying to make.

As I have already pointed out in a previous posting, whether one likes this bust or not is solely a matter of personal taste....and there is no right or wrong [as pointed out correctly by RoboDad] when it comes to matters of personal taste. I agree with Adoptedscot 100%. If you like something buy it, if you don't like it then don't buy it.

Thats it right there in a nutshell as the man says :rotfl Go woodsy!! :bounce

Wow, just saw the pics of the Twilight WiKi bust and read all the comments.

I thought I would get this bust for sure when I saw this character announced, got SSW statue, bust and crown. And SSW Morgul Lord statue, SSW Morgul Lord helm, Ringwraith on Steed (which is the Witch King, as one can determine by the sword) and LSB Morgul Lord, the only one I have in that series.

As you can see from the pic here, I have a hard-on for this character. :D

I have to agree, the face is probably more movie accurate than SSW, but Weta's DOES look cooler. My first two impressions were that the crown looks ridiculously small on his big head, complete with heavy Leno-chin plus that tapered off effect makes him look like a genie coming out of a bottle (or ring I guess in this case)

I was expecting to see a scale the same as the ML LSB bust, face and crown, maybe a bit of shoulders...

So I guess I'm a bit relieved that I can pass on this, I'm out of space as it is.

already at $161.99 at razor's edge.

By the time all is said and done I have a feeling it will be available for alot cheaper than this. I'm dying to see what SS sets the final ES at, but you know it's never a good sign when they allow a 2/person limit.

Hey Beren, you wouldn't happen to know the guy in Toronto that won the Sideshow Video contest for the Balrog would you? That guy had an awesome Wiki costume.
