Thanks for the heads up. Really shows SS has done their homework on this.

It's nice to see them put out something like this. It's again stressing the coloration and the paint apps as a pivotal component of the piece and integral to the accuracy striven towards. My hopes are higher still that SS is going to deliver with this line. :rock :rock :rock

Just thought I'd add that I really like these pictures, particularly the overhead of the skull; you can see quite well the heavily ossified buildup of the brow and nasal ridges that would likely have been evidenced in an elderly, dominant male. Well done with that. Also, I'm glad they didn't go with the "unused base" pictured in the PDF. The final base we've seen allows for a much better visualization of the T.rex's surroundings, not simply putting him up on a pedestal as it seems they originally would quite literally have done with the former base. Sterling creative decisions and I'm thrilled that they have a large number of educated heads coming together on this project.

Yeah 150 is nice. I love that this line has small edition sizes.

So do I. It makes it feel like I'm getting something unique and special. Value doesn't matter to me, but I know that for many folks these will be rare and worth a lot because of the low ES. Some of the PFs, maquettes, bust, and statues feel more mass produced, because of the higher ES and the QC has shown. I've had to return a few pieces to SS for replacement lately.

100 would have been hoping for a bit much. There are enough fans of dinos out there that SS could justify more than 100 on this. Particularly for a T.rex collectible, limiting it to only 150 is quite impressive. I'm loving the small edition sizes. It gives me a great deal of confidence that SS will deliver on the quality as they have with the quantity :rock ...

That being said, dio pre-orders begin processing on the 18th! :banana:banana:banana

I can't wait to see how the paint apps look, but that means going into a photo thread, and those have the tendency to make me buy whatever the item is. :lol

I'm quite anxious for this as well, and have been since the preview was first released. It's very nice to know the hour is near. :rock As soon as the dio arrives I'll be posting pics and a a review of the piece. Glad it's finally going to be here.:chew

Looking forward to your pics and review dude!...My faith in this line rests on your opinion :lol

I think a great many of us will be looking forward to hearing Scar's opinion about it.

it's because of this thread that i ordered the T-Rex statue. At first i wasn't quite sure, especially him being elderly, but the more i look at pics, and more importantly, the more i read this thread, i like it more and more, and finally pulled the trigger.

Not crazy about the Carnotosaurus as I am not that familiar with it, but I am really hoping for a Stegosaurus, Triceratops, and Brontosaurus.

Glad we sold you on the his Royal Highness! :chew As for the Carnotaurus... you can find a large number of posts as to why some of us find it an awesome choice, and also what makes the animal itself truly remarkable, in the thread for the Carno maquette... and I'm sure elsewhere since all of our Dinosauria conversation inevitably bleeds across. :lol Both are excellent choices from my perspective, and I keep checking my bank account and e-mail address in hopes that the dio will be on its way shortly!
