None of your posts for the Papo dinos have links. Just an FYI. Would love to see some prototype shots!

I'm a huge fan of the Papo dinos. They aren't the most paleontologically accurate, but they aren't meant to be. They are meant to be great representations of the JP dinos, which they most definitely are.

The Allosaurus wasn't featured in a JP film, and it looks along the lines of a lot of Todd Marshall's work. That being said, it certainly looks like it fits right in with the rest of the Papo JP dinos! :rock

Do these shots look like the prototypes? Not sure whether or not these are similar to the images you're talking about, but I found them randomly.

If so, then I actually like the final products much better. I've seen some of the production raptors which, as you said, don't have as much detail on the teeth. Fortunately, my two raptors do, and I actually like the T.rex teeth as prominent as they are, and not with quite as much of the gums showing as in the above picture, which tends to overshadow the teeth a bit much for my taste. Again, thankfully, the teeth are quite good in the final product. I'll admit I had to repaint the eyes on my T.rex so that the irises were aligned and facing forward to give a more menacing glare head-on (a lazy-eye isn't all that threatening ;) ) but other than that I'm ludicrously pleased. I'm very finicky about the eyes on all of my collectibles. :D

The mountain display is a Safari piece, those figures actually ship glued onto the mountain - and they only represent a small fraction of the entire Carnegie Collection.

I do have Papos, both in my personal collection and in my store, and they are very impressive. I just wish the herbivores had been given the same lavish attention as the carnivores.

More pics on my store site.

Wow, and to think the toys themselves will look like that someday...

What is the sculptor's blog, anyway? I never knew he had one.

I actually posted every pic from his blog.

There were previously a large number of pics in his blog but somehow he deleted them all except for the ones I posted here.

Well, the address is https://blog.naver.com/sl119fr/ but he never updated it since August 2007, and the blog is in Korean.

The sculptor of the papo dinos currently resides in France (obviously) but occasionally comes to our country. If I get the opportunity, I'll ask him what the next papo dino is (or if the folks in papo are actually planning to release one soon). It's been over an year since Allosaurus came out.

BTW, these are some pics of the prototypes (I only have photos of the Theropods)
The size of the pics are much larger than the ones from the official PAPO site.

Yeah I think Papo's great & AMAZINGly good value.
My T-rex was something ridiculous cheap like £12.95....

Well, we already know what's in their 2010 lineup, and Stegosaurus isn't among them. Probably because they recently released a new Stegosaurus for their WS lineup, and it's one of their best figures ever. :D

No, it's on my site under "Wild Safari". This is what it looks like.

But you can just PM me if you're interested. To keep this thread on track... I would be thrilled to see Sideshow unveil a Stegosaurus during Spooktacular!

Seems like some dino is coming, or at least from the teaser trailer.

:dunno

Seems like I'm the only one who could view the pics from my previous post.

Anyways, I hope it works this time.

These are the pics originally from the sculptors blog.

Veeeeeeeeeeery nice! The T.rex isn't really noticeably different from the prototype to the production piece, but the individualized teeth and much sharper claws on the Velociraptor make a bit of a difference. Very, very nice! :rock

Not sure what the Spooktacular piece will be, but I doubt a placid maquette. Spooktacular leans toward gore, so I'm betting on a pretty intense diorama. This time last year we got the unveiling of the first diorama, the gruesome but awesome LotR Uruk-hai Berserker PF, and a glut of zombie-related items. I'm hoping on Allosaurus VS Stegosaurus or Deinonychus VS Tenontosaurus.

Saw the LotR dio in the teaser, but didn't catch a Dinosauria piece. Just the T.rex from what looked like the original dio roaming around the SS warehouse. :lol

I couldn't tell if that was the T-Rex from the dio or not, here's to me getting my hopes up! :duff
