Wow, didn't expect to see this up for pre-order anywhere close to this early in the day. I woke up early this morning to run errands so that I could have time to wait for the pre-order. What a surprise that I woke up, pre-ordered the item, then finished all of my errands for the day. Wow, and here I expected to loaf around waiting for this. A very pleasant surprise! :wacky

I love the piece, but it wouldn't fit anywhere in my collection. Really masterful sculpt though, looks fantastic. Also wish this was a little larger. Great job Sideshow!

Another pleasant surprise, I agree, is the piece itself. The sculpt is magnificent. I disagree with complaints about the pose and the base. To me, this is how this piece should be. It looks like both combatants are fighting upon a steep cliffside, battling all the way to the edge of a precipise... and with the T.rex actually being knocked off its feet by the force of the Triceratops' blow!!!!!

I love it. Next, the size. I am surprised, but I am not disappointed. Actually, I'm rather impressed and very much relieved. I simply didn't have room for another large piece and it was troubling me where I might make the room, and what I would have to sell, to accomodate this. When you compare the price to the size, it does seem a bit much... right around that of the JP piece, and it seems that the chief complaint is, once again, the small size. When comparing the price solely to the size, I can see one's point... but when comparing the price to the detail, there's simply no doubt that it's well worth it. From the Inside Look and from the pics on the site, I am astounded that there is so very much intricacy.

When looking at this and then at the Berserker Uruk, it's humbling to see that the Berserker will be huge, is extremely detailed, and not a whole lot more expensive than this piece... If one were between the two and didn't have a set bias, I think the choice would probably be the Uruk. However, for those of us who are dino and wildlife freaks, this is an easy buy. Though I have to say, it was with much great reluctance that I cancelled my pre-order on the Uruk exclusive last night. Unless it is released later in the year, I simply don't have the money nor the space to justify it. But with this piece, I will make space for it, part with the cash, and will warmly welcome it into my collection. Perhaps the individual dinosaur statues will be larger to accomodate everyone's interests. Also, reward points used. There's no goin' back. :D

Odd choice of pose and even more strange that you only get a Triceratops Skull? Maybe the next time they release a Dio with a T-Rex you'll get his skull?

Yea, I brought up the skull issue a while back. I wasn't sure whether they would individualize the skulls to the dinosaur characters, or keep them species specific. I think it's safe to say they're planning a T.rex statue at some point, and we'll see the skull released with that. It makes sense that we'd see the trike skull here, and while T.rex is my no-contest favorite dino, I'm glad to see the trike have its moment in the sun.

I, for one, am extremely pleased. Wish it were a bit cheaper, but I'm happy nonetheless.:banana

There is a LOT of action in the piece... maybe a little too much?

I'd say it's the exact amount of action that a piece depicting a battle this climactic deserves. Look at the Gandalf vs. Balrog dio, for example. Sideshow would be remiss if they didn't depict battles of such magnitude as actively and graphically as possible. Plus, this is a battle that everyone is familar with, the classic duel to the death between the two most famous of dinosaur combatants. And from the looks of the dio, neither will survive this fight. It's truly awesome.

I ordered the Ex. but I am honestly not sure if I will be keeping this one. The smaller size is a disappointment and I don't like the base AT ALL.

Same here. And that is my big thing against statues - you can't change the pose if you don't like it. Ordered just in case though.

Same here, I love Dinos and this looks great! I like how it seems like they are falling down a slope or off a cliff while still scrapping and the Triceratops getting a blow in is awesome!! :rock

Couldn't agree more! An awesome way to kick off the line with such a climactic, but interestingly tragic fight. :rock

I like the size, makes it easier to justify squeezing into limited display space. My only misgiving is the possible difficulty in choosing a best angle to display it from. Looks like it could be difficult to appreciate both dinosaurs at once.

I was planning on having the T.rex in the back and the spearing trike in the front, since the T.rex does loom over the trike. Just how I plan on displaying it, but to each his or her own.

I keep waiting for something spectacular, both in size, sculpt and paint. This is nice but too small for me.

Even as a mid-action pose, the foot of the T-Rex looks a bit awkward like he is standing on mid air.

It is hard to believe that SS doesn't see that this scale is not appealing when it comes to dinosaurs.... Although it is a great sculpt, I think most of us will pass because of the scale.....

I agree, for the price it should have been bigger. Also, this is a in-house propriety,so Sideshow dont pay any royalties on it, price should have been lower.

You are right. I feel like this was originally on a level surface based and then was put on this angled, smaller base later. Just seems too "tight." Really, it looks like they are falling down a mountain together. Not exactly graceful.

why make it lower when people are accustomed to paying this price or more for a Dio! CASHING!!!$$$$
