Yeah I think after the SF contracts are up, I think SF will be gone. After listening to the conference call and listening to the MMA Junkie insiders by what they said it just doesnt make sense that they run 2 different organizations. Eventually they will probably be absorbed and the others will be let go from the sound of it.

that seems to be the consensus, but I bet when that day comes, Fedor will already be retired, so we won't see him. Doesn't Dana still hate guys like Diaz though, didn't he say he doesn't ever want him back in the UFC? As much as I wanted the UFC to merge SF, I think it would benefit as a "minor league" type system to guys that either get cut, or guys that Dana just simply doesn't want back in the UFC, as well as up and comers. I imagine that even as the UFC gets bigger, if they keep SF, those guys won't make the same kind of $ of UFC guys?.

Probably before that. I think he only has 1 or 2 fights left on his current contract. Once that's up, co-promotion will be off the table completely according to Dana White. So at that point, either Fedor will sign just to fight (like every other fighter) or he'll have to retire/fight strictly for M-1 on Showtime against fringe top 40 HW cans.

Nah he likes Nick, the problem is Nick is a liability. In the UFC he had a post-fight brawl with Joe Riggs at the hospital (lol) and in SF he's part of the reason why SF was dumped from CBS. Not to mention he openly admits to using drugs (for medical reasons lol) which could be a potential problem with licensing (especially in California) and drug tests (which are standard in Nevada/the UFC).

What top fighters will likely see SF getting scrapped/merged into the UFC before they retire? Hendo and Fedor will be out for sure. Who knows what happens to Overeem. Might not be relevant by the time it happens.

The UFC.... bailing out bankrupt MMA companies and trying to spend MMA events around the world. This is why they are the best in the business. Arianny's ****s also help.
I'll take Ariannys and Britneys together :)

Not sure about Dan and Fedor, but SF does have some decent names that Im sure when the time comes Dana is not going to let them slip away.

It all depends on the fighters and where they wanna go when their SF contracts are up and whether or not the UFC wants to sign them for that promotion. Dana White already said they would honor the SF contracts but once those are fulfilled ALL of the SF fighters are free to choose which promotion they wanna fight with.

So realistically you could see a crap load of SF fighters in the UFC before any merge even happens. And as guys migrate you'll see the UFC sending guys over to SF to fill the voids, something Dana said would be happening regardless i.e. they definitely plan on beefing up the SF roster with current UFC fighters.

So it's possible the rosters of each promotion as we know them know might not even be the same come a merge in 2014 (assuming Showtime doesn't extend a TV deal with Zuffa/SF then).

True, when the time comes though I know Dana will find a way to over ride whoever he needs to basically to get what he wants for the UFC.

Anyone watch the In the moment. The Jon Jones special on spike. It was pretty intersting. I love Shogun, but I just see this being Jone's time.

:goodpost: caught the re-run last night. I wish they would show more of his training, but I imagine he might not want that.

Tonight, I got:
