The funnies part to me is how people credited him and his supposedly newfound cardio for not gassing out after the first round. HELLO? He didn't DO anything to gas himself out. Unless you count taking an ass whooping for 3 rounds. So nothings been answered as far as how his gas tank is now.. and it won't be answered until he gets into another situation like the Lesnar fight where he goes nonstop in the first round again. THEN we'll know if he actually has some cardio come the 2nd/3rd rounds.

Made another for my MMA Demotivational Series.. :lol

That is friggin funny. lol

It does, but not as much as doing all the punching. There's a big difference between being hurt and gassing out. Against Lesnar, Carwin gassed out. Against JDS, Carwin was hurt.

Yea I still think his gas tank is improved, but I do partially agree with you. We still dont know if he can go 3 rounds with actually fighting back.

Some people questioned his chin because of his Gonzaga fight too, that should be answered.

A couple of his early fights he got rocked pretty good, but he was able to pull a Chris Leben and deck them as they came in for the kill and win them.

Honestly, after that butt-kicking he just got, I wonder if he's in route to just being a gate keeper? I don't think he's top 5 in that division at this point, and should just be a step to a winner-gets-a-title-shot fight, and not being in them himself anymore. I'd even go to say Roy Nelson could take him if he gets it out of the first round. I dunno? But Carwin is a humble guy, I like him. Not trying to badmouth him.

So far it looks like there are 2 ways to beat Carwin.
1. If you are able to put him on his back and wear him out/choke him out.
2. Use superior footwork/boxing to outstrike him.

But not just any footwork/boxing but those credentials on JDS level. It is still true that someone who stands in front of Carwin and is relatiely slow will probably fall victim to his power.

Carwin's stock isn't looking to good at the moment with 2 sstraight losses and his age...

I think you have to put it in context: Carwin does have 2 losses in a row but they're to 1. The current champion at the time Lesnar (who was ranked #2/currently #3) and 2. The #1 contender JDS (currently ranked #4/most likely #4 or #3 now). So he's only lost to the current best of the best in the HW division.

There's still plenty of guys Carwin would destroy, namely Pat Barry, Kongo, Struve, Browne, Hunt, Rothwell, Nelson, Big Nog, Mir (again), Schaub (teammates, but if they fought).

I don't think he's hit "gatekeeper" status just yet. But if he loses his next couple fights you might just see him retire because I agree his age IS a problem.

I think its going to be Cain and JDS passing the belt back and forth to each other and Shane and Brock holding everyone else back while they get there shots for the belt against JDS and Cain.
I do agree also that Carwin would still destroy alot of people and even Brock. I mean if either gets you in a bad spot its going to be hard to stop either of those guys, if anything it was JDS's speed/hands that helped him dismantle Shanes face.

Overeem vs. Werdum
Barnett vs. Rogers
Noons vs. Masvidal
Cormier vs. Monson
V.Overeem vs. Griggs
JZ vs. Wilcox

Theres my picks...we'll see what happens. I like Masvidal, but I think KJ is going to hold it down. I could see that going either way though.

Kinda late bringing this up (meant to before), but why is Sam Stout always on the prelim fights? The dude always puts on an exciting fight, and even a lot of the casual fans know who he is and cheer him on.

Just wondering. Every time I see him on one it just makes me scratch my head, wondering why he's not on the main card.

After he beat Spenser Fisher (which was a shock) he got his first push from the UFC: Main Event slot at a TUF finale. He lost to Florian by RNC and he was cut.

After 2 fights/2 wins in a smaller promotion he was brought back and immediately got another main event TUF slot in a rematch with Fisher. His 2nd push. He lost. Back to the small time shows he went.

After 1 win he was brought back again. Since then he's went 5 -3 in the UFC. ALL his wins/losses (except his last vs. Yves) have been Decisions. Exciting yes, but decisions nonetheless.

So that's why he's an undercard fighter: 2 failed pushes and a string of decisions.

With the KO win over Yves you might see the UFC give him another main card push. Never know.
