Ahh do you have to have a certain amount of Turnover to be able to claim the VAT back then ?

And I'll keep you in mind next time I'm after a Hot Toys, would much rather support a small business than a chain store :) we have too many chain stores.

Miss the days of poking around in all these individual cooky shops, you just never know what you'd find :D

you won't regret it, mate. he's the best. uk's only official enterbay dealer too.

smeh FP suck. asian ebay sellers are the way to go.

plus they call you sir, makes me feel good

I'm waiting to see what Play.com's price is before I click the Order button, but they tend to be a bit higher then ForbidenPlanet.co.uk anyway, so....Oh well :angelsmil

They do know how to treat the customer and are very similar to the US who in my mind provide the best customer service in the world!

You dont even get a "Do you want fries with that" in the UK - shockingly poor service!

Hot Toys should do away with this exclusive distributor thing and just sell direct to all retailers who wish to buy wholesale directly from them. This way, we collectors can have more choice of shops to choose from and not get "slaughtered" by the so-called exclusive distributors in our respective home countries. Just my humble opinion.

That's crazily expensive, i'll be off to Ebay or Breakersrevenge then!

I run my own business (none collecting type) and the currency rates and import fee's can be crippling. We buy 90% of our products from the USA or Europe.

I can't see Hot Toys opening themselves up to all retailers, i'm sure they want to keep their line as exclusive as possible. As soon as they start popping up all over the place it's game over for margins/profit.

I remember arguing with one when he said I still owed him money and he still whilst arguing was very polite although being angry. :lol:lol

Alot of the asian sellers are awesoe but confusing.

Like abc express , the infamous.

Don't use are photos or you will be sorry.....:lol:lol:lol

Am still learning my way around (like not using Sideshow for Hot Toys - I still don't have my Machiko or any notification to if she's even been shipped)

Have been collecting for about a year and a half, this place has been a godsend for finding about all these other distributors and which one's are reliable :)

I'm a UK dealer and I understand your pain!!!

BUT when I buy from my suppliers in HK and Enterbay, you must realize that I get charged duty and VAT on each consignment and my HT suppliers and Enterbay can not mark down the price due to insurance.

EG. My last lot of HT BR Jokers, I had 16 units delivered and 2 was damaged as in crushed box, there is no way I would be able to claim if my supplier marked down as gifts and with low value.

With the buying power of FP the price is high, I would of expect the price to be lower than mine but its the other way round!

Creecher, I would love to buy from HT direct, had initial contact with them, my wife even spoke with Howard, then all went dead so we gave up, not sure what the reason was maybe because I'm an official Enterbay supplier!

Thanks for opening my eyes to some of the facts, over my assumptions. Certainly an eye opener, for me. As an individual I don't have to pay duties, until they go over our threshold, which is quite high, and I only get a few items at a time. Buying direct from overseas bypasses our GST too.

br has the best prices in the UK and easily the best service. he's the only retailer i know in this country that actually cares about his customers. and i totally agree with what he says - prices are higher because of the poor exchange rate and for distributors like him, dodgy customs stuff is out of the question.

but if his prices are lower than fp, then something is quite wrong. i know he reduces his profits to a bare minimum for us, but like he says - fp is a BIG company. i bet they get a much better wholesale rate. so what gives? maybe creecher is right when he says things go via sideshow. but i'm not sure about that, because a lot of the HT stuff they sell aren't up on sideshow's site, so they must have another more direct supplier.

FP, being a big company, I would have thought they would get a huge container of goods, and be able to distribute the costs over more products, again reducing the retail price. Even if they have a more direct supplier.
