Anyone seen Last Horror Movie?

(I couldn't find any mention of it here)

The concept works better if you can find it on VHS but DVD works too... Very straightforward low budget flick that I don't want to say too much about for fear of spoiling the movie. Check it out if you haven't.

i love this thread. i got 7 movies listed for me to search and watch hopefully.:yess:

regarding the gory stuff and genre for the matter, i find it helpful for my work actually. i dont get squeamish when faced with the real deal:pray:.

Like SS said: What's on your list so far?

Also, what kind of work do you do?

What is on your list?

so far...
(will check out some of the artsy bits in the mix, as some of you recommended.)
i got...

begotten
flowers of flesh(sounds interesting)
martyr
let the right one in (i thought this was a love story as i browse through the titles)
high tension
warlock(i'm not sure if i've seen this before, want to check it awt)
the brood

i think i missed out on some great horror films during the 90's, internet was still in its baby steps.

ED... Erectile Dysfunction? :dunno

You should seriously add "The Act of Seeing with One's Own Eyes" considering your work.

...i watched the Decent 2 last night...its basically the same film as the first just not done as well. I figured Id mention that here instead of starting a new thread or being my laziness and searching thru the millions of threads here.

is that the one with dissecting a cadaver? too redundant for me IMO.

ED, emergency department. all walks of life passes through those doors, young to old.

Another great, under-rated film I was thinking about this morning is Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. Not as "classic" or influential as the original of course, but I would argue that it was just as innovative in terms of the humor and atmosphere. It seems like the movie Rob Zombie kept trying (and failing) to make. Chop Top is an all-time great horror movie character.

No, not cadaver dissection...

Speaking of autopsys: Have any of you seen The Act of Seeing with One's Own Eyes?

Not a horror movie at all. But "gory" (and real) none-the-less.

For me this has a similar appeal to Flower of Flesh and Blood in that it overtly confronts death and shows what we are made of at the most visceral level... except there is no violence in this and the bodies are real rather than special effects. Obviously not for the faint of heart or for those who cant appreciate the "artsy fartsy." It's an "experimental" film, and there is intentionally no sound.

I have attended a cadaver dissection, but an autopsy is quite another thing. I have tried to watch clips of this movie, but seems like no one posts the most graphic stuff. I have been meaning to buy it for a long time and I keep forgetting to.

...off to ebay I go...

[Edit: I found it: https://catalog.ebay.com/Brakhage-Anthology-DVD-2003-/3410241?_dmpt=US_DVD_HD_DVD_Blu_ray&_fifpts=1&_pcatid=1&_refkw=Brakhage+Anthology++Criterion+Collection&_trksid=p4978.c0.m456#{%22Page%22%3A%22http%3A%2F%2Fcatalog.ebay.com%2FBrakhage-Anthology-DVD-2003-%2F3410241%3F_aset%3D0%26_dmpt%3DUS_DVD_HD_DVD_Blu_ray%26_fifpts%3D1%26_htch%3D1%26_pcatid%3D1%26_refkw%3DBrakhage%2520Anthology%2520%2520Criterion%2520Collection%26_rptype%3D4295%26_sticky%3D1%26_tab%3D2%26_trksid%3Dp4295.c0.m299%26_sop%3D15%26_sc%3D1%22} Or just search "Brakhage Anthology Criterion Collection"

Just bought one: $18.99 shipped. :rock]

I have worked on a cadaver. I have held intestines and a human brain in my hands, but that's still different than an autopsy imo. Maybe you have done autopsy's to though. :dunno

Totally agree, way underrated for sure. The opening scene is so awesome yet everyone forgets about this one. Great addition.

What about Lifeforce...another underrated flick totally. Really creeped me out when I was younger. Seen it recenetly and still thought it was really good.

@maglor
nah, havent done autopsy nor assisted in one. the closest would be from my theater/OR rotation though.

how about the movie demon wind. that movie kinda scared me walking through doorways that time.:lol

I'll have to see this, I seen it on Netflix i'll have to give it a try.

Only if you are talking about the original.

If the original is the same concept as the remake, then I don't think I could take it. I love my horror films, but when it's an hour or two hours worth of torturing people then I'm out. I guess I have my limits within the genre, and continuous torture is it. I recently saw 'The Girl Next Door' (based somewhat on a true story) and though it was well done, the last 45 min were difficult to watch.

From what I hear, there is no "on screen" torture in funny games.

Torture is torture whether you see it OR hear it. One sees the progression quite brutally throughout most of the remake and it's VERY difficult to watch/hear. Obviously the desired effect by the filmmakers was achieved (ie: creep/disturb/make the viewer uncomfortable the entire time). For myself, that's not my preferred viewing experience when I watch horror movies.

Fair enough. I'm guessing your not a big fan of the Saw series then.

Is 'The Girl Next Door' the one based on the true story that had the coke bottle incident? I think I remember researching that movie once.

I actually liked the first 'Saw' movie. But that one switched between storylines and characters and wasn't just an hour and a half of 2 men in a room with a 'dead' body. Plus the film is so over the top that I didn't find the subject matter disturbing at all. I guess it's films that have a more realistic approach to torture is when I tune out.

I've seen Saw II and III as well. Both were very meh compared to the first one. Rehash, rehash and rehash are all the words that come to mind when I saw them. New 'games' that are interesting enough but ultimately Jigsaw and his 'Legacy' just weren't interesting once the film series continued. That all said, I'm sure I'll watch the rest in the series...someday.

After the first 3 saws I gave up as well, but I too keep watching all the sequels. I dont really care
for them, but there entertaining to say the least.

Yeah I seen The Girl Next Door and I'll agree that was a little tough to watch.

I feel the same way about Hostel. The first was interesting for what it was, made you think and the scene in the stall at the train station was brilliant to give the viewer a "happy ending" after sitting through it. The second offering was lame and nothing short of torture porn.
