anyone receive the new sauron helm yet? Is it heavy and worth the price? Still contemplating whether I should snag one or not or save for something else

Just got the new helm last night, for some reason it seems smaller than the first one I had. The finish is different to, very high gloss, where as the old one had a dull mat and worn finish. It says its wearable but when I tried it on it only covers half my face, so it definitely looks and feels smaller. Even the box says "actor size" helm replica, and if I recall correctly the older version said life size helm.

Not sure how I feel about that, might send it back, might not. Gonna do a review this weekend on it.

I sent mine back. QC was bad and I really did not want an "actor size" prop. I don't have a big head and I barely fit into it. Overall not impressed, looks good from across the room, but up close it seems a bit cheap. I may pick up another one someday and hope for a better piece without the QC issues, but it would have to be cheap. I wanted it for a Sauron display with the PF, Weta Barad Dur, master replica ring prop, and Vanderstelt art canvas behind. I have everything but the helm now, may pick up the LSB to fill the place.

Very disappointed to hear this. I was so close to buying the new helm, guess I won't be now.

I, too, was planning to make a Sauron display with the PF, life-size helm, Vanderstelt print, and the gauntlet.

Does anyone here have the new gauntlet? How does it compare to the original?

I think there is another flaw, like a resin blob on the bottom of that off-center spice, opposite that forehead oval area.

I was never impressed with the first helm either, so looks like I wouldn't care for this version. The gauntlet is awesome, have the first. The Sauron mace is tempting, but I fear it will have the same finish and look of the helm.
