I saw the movie. I agree the poignant portion was done well. Beyond that though, it was hard relating to much. I mean, I do own dog(s), but for me, overall this movie was just "meh". I'm wondering if it'll grow on me over time. I'm not sure if watching it in 3D while stuck at the first 5 rows made the experience less enjoyable.

I need to still see Wall-E, but this looks better to me.
It seems like it's going to be pretty funny

Saw it this weekend and I did not care for it too much. It wasnt bad...but it wasnt even close to great.

The animation was outstanding but the story just didnt do that much for me. This is probably my least favorite pixar movie. That being said, it was still better than a ton of other animated movies from other studios.

1. Toy Story
2. Incredibles
3. Finding Nemo
4. Toy Story 2
5. Monsters Inc
6. Cars
7. Wall-E
8. Bugs Life
9. Ratatouille
10. Up

I liked it, it was a great movie. I wouldn't buy it on DVD though.

I saw it in Real D, which was a great experience and I recommend people seeing one of Disney's movies in REAL D at least once.

Saw this movie and I think Pixar has decided not to make films for children. This is really more for adults, the kids in the audience I saw it with were squirming and talking through almost all the first half. But I loved it a lot - the dialogueless montage with Ellie and Carl was masterfully done and you have no heart if you weren't welling up a bit by the end of it.

The adventure part and the dogs were very cute and clever, and I'll agree with everyone that Dug is a great character. Pixar always creates great characters, but the maturity of the themes of this film also elevated it beyond most other films and that includes most pretentious "art-house" films as well.

However I'd say I still prefer Wall-e as a cinematic experience. I also didn't see any point of making it 3D - there were virtually no 3D effects. There were far more in the ESPN trailer for the Extreme 3D sports movie.

If we're going to rank:

1. Wall-E
2. Incredibles
3. Up
4. Ratatouille
5. Toy Story 2
6. Toy Story
7. Monsters Inc
8. Finding Nemo
9. Bugs Life
10. Cars

Hated this movie. Sorry. :( I wanted to LOVE it and I was just so very bored.

WALL-E is still my favorite!

I totally agree that this really wasn't made for children (was it rated PG?). My god, I was on the verge of tears as they montaged Carl's life (and again later in the film during the adventure book scene), but all the kids in the theater were whining and saying the movie was boring during those parts.

The only issues I had (real nitpicky) was that Carl was running like a 20-year-old throughout the film. I know they needed to do that to up the urgency, but come on :lol. Also, the interaction between Carl and Charles Muntz and his "turning evil" was rather cliche.

Aside from those issues, I LOVED everything about it. Funny and touching at the right moments. and Kevin and Doug were hilarious.

I seem to have a tendency to say to myself "this looks like crap" whenever I see a new Pixar trailer (it also happened during the Toy Story 3 teaser), but I'm always more than pleasantly surprised with the final product (except for Cars-- which wasn't bad, but just didn't make the Pixar god-tier).

Have to admit I was crying during the montage... it was hard to get through, but really connected you to the characters quickly.

I loved this movie... from a very creative and fun adventure idea to the the characters and not to mention the amazing visual appeal. Have to agree with Dave, the 3D aspect wasn't really pushed very far, but at the same time it never became distracting either. Also didn't notice any times where my eyes had trouble focusing (or losing the 3D effect) which has happened in past ones.

The short beforehand was great as well! So happy that Pixar continues to deliver with each film :rock Not sure how I would rank this one in the overall Pixar scheme, but definitely up there in the top 5 :rock

My favorite Pixar is The Incredibles. And I HATE Cars.

So I dont rank them other then that. Up was great though. I was crying....from laughing so hard at the squeaky voice dog. :lol

I didn't hate Cars, but it is easily my least favorite of their films. I actually didn't watch it until last year, so that probably helped that I had very low interest/expectations. But all of the other films I've really enjoyed.

Cars, while not one of my favorites, has one of my favorite lines.

VW minibus looking at a blinking yellow caution signal: Every third blink is slower, man.
Military jeep: The 60's weren't good to you were they?
