Another good thing about Takara's new male Jin Roh is that it'll be closer to scale with other 1/6 figures. Unfortunately it's quite pricy, especially compared to Dragon's version which was $100 when he came out.

Guys, this one and all the ones mentioned so far are not Jin Roh. They are based on Red Spectacles and other Panzer Cop films and comics. The Only Jin Roh (Based on the Anime film) one is the one Medicom released awhile ago looks like this-

The Takara Female Protect Gear is based on the design of Jin Roh Protect Gear but that's pretty much the only other one that can be called Jin Roh -_^ The others are just Protect Gear

I dont know man...the new Takara Jinroh figures with the GenX Core may be hard to beat! We shall see.

Okay thanks for the clarification. I own the anime movie but never really got involved in the story line, I felt it dragged a little and I lost interest. I've heard the live action films are much better, I'll have to hunt them down sometime.

I dont see it as I was deciding anything. Just didn't want it to become a massacre. This is the internet, ppl always say whatever they want. There are many things I dont like as well but I normally only say it once since I know there are other ppl who prob like it and I dont want to make it seem like I'm trying to put down their tastes.

As for SSC I dont really see the need to protect them here. Everyone loves them here since this is an SSC Board after all. Engineering aside, I personally dont care for much of the SSC 1/6 Much outside of SW since I am mostly Japanese toy collector (Anime and Manga), not really film toys collector like most ppl here. The stuff I like SSC most for are their Marvel statues (PF, CQ, VS) And aside from occasiaonal SW 1/6 that's mostly what I buy from SSC. Being from the perspective of a person who collect mostly Japanese toys There seems to be a lot of negative feeling towards Imports in general on many US toy boards and the fact that the Anime and Maga properties are becoming so popular and definitive, many Pro US guys are feeling uneasy and tend to bash and bash for the sake of doing so. I get the same feeling of animosity towards Medicom sometimes on this board as well as other Import figure makers. When I do see this of course I will defend them if I feel it is venomous and happen to have the time.


As for Medicom doing good stuff once in awhile, really depends on what you like I guess. Some of the top candidates for best 1/6 this yr among many collectors I know are Medicom pieces.

different.

Just dont go in expecting tons of action and Killing. or any at all for that matter..

Jin Roh is actually one of my favorite films. It's slow but very beautiful and tragic. it's Not for everyone obviously.

I'm not expecting ppl to agree with me or expecting to act like me, I just consider it a cuortesy.

Well you are wowing Enterbay, but there are many who dont. My post was not referring to anyone in particular, just in general.

As for Medicom having great pieces, the pieces that many ppl are wowing are Kamen Rider the First, Wingman and Edward Elric (not released) those are prob all things you dont care for. But many ppl seem to prefer them as favorites to anything SSC or HT has put out this year.

I dont necessarily prefer Medicom over any company. 1/6 is not even my main thing. Just that the stuff Medicom does Great happen to be things that I like.
For me Sideshow is just ok. Good for the price but that's about it. Only thing I buy 1/6 wise is SW and it's a very casual purchase for me. The bodies are too bulky and everyone looks kinda "big" But the price is good. HT is a great company but I dont care for any of the licenses they have. Lot of ppl love the Superman it seems which I did a Gallery for. And the Robocop and ED-209 are incredible but again not much interest.

This looks like Enterbay has Medicom re-thinking things. I've only picked up a few Medicom figures recently after getting burned by them years ago. Their first 12-inch Bruce Lee was pictured in ToyFare or Lee's. It was a stunning photograph. I wish I had a copy of it to show you. Incredible likeness. It got me interested in 1:6 scale. I found a dealer and ordered it.

Then the figure arrived, and this is what it looked like:

I eventually sold it on eBay. I never opened it.

This new one will of course have that dawggone Medi-neck cut, but it looks pretty good, IMHO on a par with the TAO 2003 Enter the Dragon figure. A tie for third place behind the Enterbay figure in second.

I do believe Bruce will be a major player, a major hit, for Medicom no doubt! He will be a welcomed addition to our collection and so will Ginko!
